I have used a tartan paper from Trimgym.  The digital image comes from Pink Gem Designs.  I have coloured using copic markers in the V, RV, W and E ranges - forgot to write the exact colours down!  The mesh ribbon is another that I bought recently - love this colour!  I have used a Spellbinders Labels die for die-cutting and then added some rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

Decoupage Rose

I had a heap of fun with this rose.  I printed it out four times in the size that I wanted and then cut it up into decoupage pieces:

Shiny Butterfly

A nice shiny butterfly uses up some shiny wrapper that I had in my craft box!

I have used an absolutely beautiful paper from Trimgym - I love the colours and the inclusion of both flowers and butterflies on this paper.  The image comes from A Day For Daisies and has been coloured using copic markers YG11, R59, R46, E00, R81, RV10, E43.  The shiny butterfly is cut using a Marianne's die and some shiny paper that was possibly a chocolate wrapper?  The green grosgrain ribbon is from American Crafts.  The sentiment is from Sans Designs.

Freebie Time at Creative Bug on the Loose

It is time for another Bit By the Bug Tuesday.  The day where I introduce you all to the newest freebie over at Creative Bug on the Loose.  This week we have...

"Bumble Bug"

I have made this card with this lovely image:

I have used a background paper from MME - just found I had it - perfect for this card.  The paper pad is called "Follow Your Heart - Be Amazing".  The bottom part of the card uses the reverse of the paper.  The sentiment is one I typed up myself to go with this image.  I have coloured her with copic markers.  The die-cut is a Spellbinders Label die.  I have also added a little gold satin bow and four self-adhesive glitter domes - although the adhesive isn't that great and they do move a bit so I'm thinking I might need to apply some stronger adhesive to them.

So, what are you waiting for?  To take advantage of this cute image, head on over to Creative Bug on the Loose and follow the instructions on how to bring Bumble Bug home with you While you are over there, don't forget to check out all the great digis Naomi has available in the store for purchase and don't forget to leave her a little love too.

I've caught the bug,
have you?

Butterfly Butterfly

A nice butterfly theme card this time:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/paper-additctions-and-sweet-sketch.html
Platypus Creek Digitals - Things with Wings
http://www.platypuscreekdigitals.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/challenge-37.html

I have followed this sketch for this card:

I have used background papers from two different companies.  The checky one is from MME and the butterfly one comes from Mariposa Matstack by DCWV.  The image is from Platypus Creek Digitals and is called Ulysses Butterfly.  Matting is cardstock by Rosies Studio.  I have kept the colouring simple for this card and only used copic marker YR02.  The die-cut butterfly matched perfectly with that colour - this die came free with a magazine.  I have also added some Stickles along the inner edges of the butterfly paper.

Sadly, this is the last challenge at Platypus Creek Digitals.  I have really enjoyed participating in these challenges and will miss them.  I am going to try and complete two cards using Platypus Creek Digitals for this final challenge - this one is the first of them.  I have another winged image that I hope to be able to use.

It's Your Day to Shine

Another summery card - must be the sunshine today (not seen it for a while!).

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Penny's Paper - Bling It On

Lacy Sunshine - Anything Goes
http://lacysunshinechallengeblog.blogspot.gr/2013/07/challenge-13-anything-goes-must-use.html

I found a nice spring paper in my stash.  The image is from Lacy Sunshine.  After initially thinking he looked a bit like a Smurf and was considering blue colour scheme, I decided I would go with nice cheerful summery colours.  I have used copic markers V17, V15, YR04, E00, W0, BG00, BG000, E51, Y23.  I have added a bit of bling to the background paper in the form of clear rhinestones and Stickles - Diamond.

Cocktail Time!

A nice summery image!  The sun is shining here today but the temperature is still on the cool side!  I am so looking forward to the warmer weather arriving soon.

Purple Olive and Gold

Trimgym - Anything Goes
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/august-challenge-anything-goes.html

I have used a background paper from Trimgym for this card.  The image comes from Doodle Dragon Studios.  I have coloured with copic markers - forgot to write the numbers down though!  I have added glitter to the wings as well as the top and bottom edges of the Spellbinder die.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  I have added a flower from Craftworks (had it for years!) and some leaves using a Marianne's Designs die.  I have also added a bit more sparkle in the form of rhinestones.  The grosgrain ribbon is from American Crafts.

Looking to upload the challenges, I am not entirely sure that this fits The Outlawz Challenge - I missed the bit in the write up that said "Christmas in July".  However, she could be a Christmas fairy?  Still, the colours are right and the twist is there.  I'll possibly give this to a girl who is too old for Santa images (thinks they are baby-ish) and too young for traditional scene images and the like.

Bling it On - Snowman!

A nice bright sparkly Christmas card:

CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/chnc-challenge-extra-for-july.html

I have used a pink colour scheme for this card - driven mainly by the background paper but also as it is a cold and foggy morning and I had to do something to brighten it up!  The image that I have used is from Crafty Sentiments and is called Snowman Song.  The snowflake is a die from Spellbinders which I've cut from pearlescent paper and then embellished with a rhinestone.  The sentiment, also embellished with rhinestones, is from Bird's Cards.  Colouring is with copic markers C1, RV23, RV34, RV04, RV02, R05, Y35, E47.  I have also added some Stickles - Diamond.

The Outlawz CFC Challenge - Sandi's Image

Sometimes, it is nice to have a card that is not too fussy for those people who prefer that style of card - yes, I know a few people like that!   The paper for this card comes from a paper pad by MME called "Dolled Up".  Interesting name for a paper pad that contains a number of wood effect papers!  Anyway, back to the card - the image comes from Sandi's Samples and is one of the images provided for the latest CFC Challenge at The Outlawz (link above).  The sentiment is from Mudmaven Designs. Colouring is with copic markers W5, B23, Y02, Y35.

I have used a paper from a paper pad called Summer Goodness - this one reminds me of a tablecloth for picnics!  The images are both from A Creative Need and coloured with copic markers.  The die-cuts used for the images as well as the apples are from Spellbinders.

What a Treat

A nice summery card for a cold winter's day!

Tiddly Inks - Summer Treats (cherries, strawberries and ice-cream)
http://tiddlyinkschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/challenge-114-summer-treats-yum.html

I have used one of the last papers I have left in my paper pad called Summer Goodness.  The strawberry die-cut is one from Spellbinders.  The images are both from Tiddly Inks - the frame is a separate image to the ice-cream but I felt they worked well together.  I coloured the frame to represent lots of cherries - a real summer treat for me.  I decided on a strawberry ice-cream with a nice shiny red cherry on top - with the help of some Glossy Accents.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.  All matting is red cardstock.

Fancy Fold Card

I have no idea what this card is called.  I found a picture of one when I was looking through some challenges and decided to try and work out how it was constructed.  Of course, I now can't find the one that was my inspiration! This one is slightly different from the Tri Fold Shutter card that I learned from Shelly's Images in that it consists completely of squares.

All That Stickles - Waterfall
http://allthatstickles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/waterfall-linky-party_20.html

The template I had made myself from looking at the card mentioned above.  Thank you to whoever made that card.  The paper is some from my scrapbook paper stash.  All the images (including the flowers) are from Digi Stamps 4 Joy.  After looking at the tutorial with the challenge, I decided that I could do something like that for my card!  Very fiddly doing all the fussy cutting and at one point I nearly abandoned that idea but I'm glad now that I didn't.  I have cut some cream mesh ribbon for the squares on the diagonal.  Colouring is with copic markers E18, E15, BG15, Y08, E00, YG23, YG11.  I have also added some Stickles - Waterfall to the bottom layer of each of the flowers.  As a finishing touch, I have added Ivory coloured pearls of differing sizes.

Thank You

Papertake Weekly - Dies and/or Punches
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/die-ing-for-punch.html

I have used a "math" themed paper from a paper pad by DCWV called A Type of Art.  The other piece behind the image is an offcut from another card - I think it might be one from MME but I can't be sure of that.  The image is from Jellypark Friends and the sentiment is from Create with TLC.  Die-cutting is with a Spellbinders rectangle die and a Spellbinders Labels die.  I have embellished the dies with some Stickles - Waterfall.

I have used up some more papers from my stash - I have heaps so it is going to take some time!  They are all from scrapbook paper packs that I bought a few years back.  I've used some out of the packs for scrapbooking but still have a lot left.

The image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and has been coloured with copic markers G02, RV10, RV06 and Y06.  I have used a scallop rectangle die from Spellbinders to cut the image.  I have added some buttons cut using a Memory Box die and also a bow made from organza ribbon.
