Thinking of You

I have had to use so many sympathy cards lately that I start to colour with softer palettes!  I'm hoping that I don't have to send any more.  I'm not sure that I will use this one as a sympathy card though.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - Sketch
http://sundaysketchandstamp.blogspot.co.nz/2014/05/challenge-208-anne-maries-sketch.html
Glitter n Sparkle - Add some metal (brad in lower left corner)

Sentimental Sunday - Things With Wings
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2014/05/challenge-208-things-with-wings.html

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft together with some offcuts from other cards.  I think all the offcuts may also be from Kaisercraft.  The image is from Fred She Said and coloured with copic markers YG06, YG03, YG00, B000, YR02, YR00, Y02, Y23.  I have also used Distress Marker - Faded Jeans for the doodling around the image.  The sentiment is from Sans Designs.  I have also used a bracket shaped brad in the lower left hand corner of the card.

Let the beauty of nature feed your soul

Such a beautiful sentiment.  This card was inspired by a scene in an inspiration picture and here is my interpretation:

Attitude

Love this quote - and how it particularly applies to my two teenagers!  Particularly as one is starting to learn to drive as well.

Crazy Frog

When I saw this image, I immediately thought of the Crazy Frog song.  I showed it to my daughter and she said the same thing!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Magnolia Get Well card

As both my daughter and I are sick at the moment, I am inspired to make Get Well Cards - maybe in the hope that I can shake this cold!  I used a nice cheerful flower image:

Darker Side

I'm not very good at doing "darker side" but thought I would give it a go.  I think I need way more practice!  The only thing dark about this is the colour - and even that has photographed lighter than it is!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Darker Side
http://deliciousdoodleschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/05/team-b-on-darker-side-ch89.html

I have used a dark grey background paper from Kaisercraft and added some black washi tape embellished with black pearls.  The image is from Delicious Doodles and matted on to black cardstock.

The lion and the lamb

I kept trying to come up with a witty sentiment for this image - but with a head cold, my brain isn't really functioning that well!

I am entering my card into these challenges:
Gerda Steiner Designs - Progressive Challenge
http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com/challenge2/2014/5/8/7th-freebie-design-digital-stamp-design-challenge

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft for the background and sectioned it off using satin ribbon from Semco.  The image is from Gerda Steiner Designs and has been coloured in a mixture of copic markers and Distress Markers.  I have added a large button from my stash as an embellishment.

Happy Spring

When I think of spring colours, I automatically think of the bright yellows of daffodils:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #91
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/sketchie-free-for-all.html

I have used paper from an A4 paper pad I bought recently.  I couldn't resist when the whole pad consisted of yellows and oranges which are my two favourite colours.  Some of the patterns are a little large for cardmaking so I am not sure what I'll do with those ones yet.  The image that I have used is April Swings from Fresh Brewed Designs.  I have coloured her with copic markers Y06, E00, E43, E41, YR02, E15.  I added some faux stitching using Distress Marker - Mustard Seed plus a corner "accent" using a yellow Gelato.  I have also added some yellow mesh ribbon and some narrow yellow satin ribbon.

Relax and Take a Little Time for Yourself

I love this sentiment as I think it is something we all need to do - and don't!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Dad

This image is just perfect for my Dad as he was a builder before his retirement a few years back.  My Dad is definitely a straight up no frills type person so I kept the embellishments to an absolute minimum!

Scarecrow

I had a bit of an issue with my DT card for the mid-way post for the challenge at Creative Bug on the Loose.  I didn't check that the image was still available in the shop - somehow he had escaped since I got him!  Anyway, I have used the scarecrow image:

There have been a couple of extra freebies added to the store, so head on over to Creative Bug Digis and snag yourself one then enter the challenge at Creative Bug on the Loose.

I have used some neutral coloured background paper from a paper pad.  The image is from Creative Bug on the Loose but not currently available in store.  I coloured using copic markers.  I have added some orange mesh ribbon, some leaves cut from scrap pieces of green using a Marianne's die and three pale green rhinestones.

Spiral Tree

I love the difference in this tree image from many other Christmas Tree images:

I have used a background paper from MME for this card.  The image is from Digital Delight and has been coloured with copic markers. I added some printed ribbon across the top and bottom of the image.

Christmas Gift

Normally I would say that the worst challenge I could come across would be one involving paper piecing.  However, for some reason I decided to willingly paper piece this image - without a challenge pushing me in that direction!

I have used three papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles - at least two of them are from the previous months' Christmas Link Ups.  The image is from Sami Stamps.  I die-cut using a Spellbinder die.  I added some sparkly gold ribbon and bow around the card.

We Three Kings

It's time for another challenge at Incy Wincy Designs - actually it started yesterday and I just realised that I hadn't done the post yet!  The challenge is incorporating embossing and bling into your creation.  To find out more details head on over to Incy Wincy Designs Challenge Blog.

Here is my card for inspiration this week:

The card uses a digi from Dr Digi called We Three Kings.  I have coloured the image using copic markers.  The embossing folder is called Tuscany Tiles but I always think it looks like snowflakes and tend to use it with Christmas images.  The background paper is from a paper pad - Kaisercraft I think.  I have also added five rhinestones to the image.

Button Sunflowers

I thought I'd take a different approach with the image - adding buttons to the centres of the open sunflowers.  I'm quite pleased with the effect:

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft that has a sort of distressed look to it.  The image is from Little Miss Muffet and has been coloured with copic markers.  After colouring the centre of the flowers I decided to add some buttons over the top - you can see the original colour I used poking through the holes in the buttons!  I die cut using a Spellbinder die.  I have also used some wide mesh ribbon, a button and some twine.

A special card for a special friend:

Lacy Sunshine - Anything Goes
http://lacysunshinechallengeblog.blogspot.gr/2014/05/lacy-sunshine-challenge-33-anything-goes.html

I have used a lovely textured background paper from Kaisercraft.  The black bits remind me of a felt set I had when I was younger that I always liked to run my fingers across!  The lace is quite old - some that my grandmother had but hadn't used.  The image is from Lacy Sunshine and coloured with copic markers before die-cutting with a Spellbinder Labels die.  I have added black pearls to both the image and sentiment.  I filled in the gaps between the pearls on the sentiment with some dots made by Distress marker - Black Soot.

Pink and Purple - All Girlie girl

I actually enjoyed creating this card - even though I'm not really a pink person.  Maybe all the purple helped!

I have used a background paper from Kaisercraft.  The image is from The Paper Shelter and has been coloured with my copic markers with the bows highlighted with Stickles.  I die-cut using a Spellbinder Labels die and then faux stitched around the edge.  I have also used some lace, satin ribbon and two different sized pearls.

For A Friend

Winter is really trying to make it's mark here!  The days are getting cooler all the time.  As I write this it is nearly lunchtime and the fog hasn't lifted - can't see past the houses on the other side of the road!

I found a sweet image to use this week - and pulled some of the colours from the background paper.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch

I have used a background paper from my stash of scrapbooking papers.  The matting, glitter cardstock and gold card are all offcuts.  The image is from Broken Box Stock and has been coloured with copic markers E00, 100, G21, RV13. I have also added some narrow yellow ribbon, a white flower piece and a green pearl.

Here is the sketch I followed:

Triple Treat

This is the third of my "three of something" cards that I have created today.  This one features Three Daffodils:

Clear It Out Challenge - Mother and Flowers
http://clearitoutchallenge.blogspot.ca/2014/05/its-challenge-time.html

I have used a background paper from a paper pad - I'd be guessing as to the brand!  I printed out the image from LEJ Designs three times and then matted it onto pale yellow cardstock.  I used some lace and a flower from my stash - both have been there for a while!!  I embellished the flower with a pearl from Rosies Studio.

Triple Flower Pots

I seem to be having a "Three of Something" day as I have created three cards all with three somethings on them!  This one is the second one:

I have used a background paper from a paper pad - I think this one may be from Rosies Studio.  The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs and printed three times to give a row of flower pots.  I have coloured with copic markers G17, G14, YR02, YR00, R14.  I matted onto to an offcut piece of red cardstock and then added some bright green pearls.  I tried adding red ones initially and they just blended into the background!

Spring Shopping

I thought about how we spring clean and sometimes need to buy new stuff at that time.  Decided to combine spring butterflies with a shopping image:

I have used a background paper from Kaisercraft for this card.  The image is from Flat Friends and has been coloured with my copic markers.  The die that I have used is my favourite one from Marianne's Designs.  I have also added three butterflies and some tiny pearls.
