Traditional Easter

All the traditional signs of Easter!  Here in New Zealand it is actually autumn time at Easter so no daffodils in sight!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Brown Sugar - Easter
http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/challenge-139-easter.html

I have used  paper from a paper pad by MME for this card.  I cut the image from From The Heart Stamps into three and placed them on a diagonal.  They are coloured with copic markers and edged with Distress Ink.  I also used a sentiment cut into a pennant shaped and added some tiny pearls to the sentiment and some larger ones to the card.

Celebrating Elephant

With the balloon I thought this would make a good card for a celebration - be it a birthday or something else.  So, with that in mind I have gone with papers and embellishments that would fit any celebration.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

You can find me at the beach

Actually - not!  The weather here today is definitely not beach weather.  I think winter is really trying to take hold now.

I haven't created a card with a Theresa Sherman image for a while so I had fun creating this one.  She is one of the artists featured at Sweet Pea Stamps who are the sponsor for the Tuesday Morning Sketches.  As I always try to use one of the sponsor's images for challenges I enter if I can, this was a great opportunity to use this image.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Sketch #293
http://tuesdaymorningsketches.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/tuesday-morning-sketches-293.html
Crafting For All Seasons - Pastel Hues
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/challenge-98-pastel-hues.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called "Sandy Toes".  The sentiment is also from that paper pad.  I followed the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches - but changed the shape of the sentiment.  I also used some glitter cardstock from DCWV cut with Spellbinder dies.  I added some clear rhinestones as accents.  Colouring is with copic markers with the addition of Stickles - Gold and Diamond.

I'm not sure why but when I enter the Crafting For All Seasons Challenges it says there is no backlink despite the fact it is in my post.  When I was using Internet Explorer it worked every time but since I had to switch to Google Chrome it keeps giving me an error message.  I don't want to go back to using Internet Explorer as I was starting to have too many problems with it.  If anyone has any solutions I'd love to hear them!

Right on Track

This is a great image for a boy for Easter so I have worked more with a masculine colour scheme.

CHNC - Patterned Paper - March
http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/craftyhazelnuts-patterned-paper-march.html

I have used a boys themed paper from a paper pad by Pebbles called "Boy".  The image is the digi of the month from Deedee's Digis.  I coloured using copic markers to match the colours in the background paper.  The sentiment which I cut into pennant shapes also comes from Deedee's Digis as part of the Digi of the Month set.  I matted with textured cardstock from DCWV.

Incy Wincy Designs - Vintage

This week we have a vintage theme for you at Incy Wincy Designs.  Our sponsor this week is Rick St Dennis:

You can check out the inspiration cards using Rick St Dennis images here.  And this is my one:

I have used the fabulous image Paris en Plume.  The background paper and matching pearls are from Rosie's Studio.  I used a fancy rectangle die from Spellbinders to cut out the image.  The image is coloured with copic markers.  I also die-cut a feather using a die that came free with a craft magazine.

Paper Pieced Spring

The technique I have used to create the background is one I usually use when creating gift cards at Christmas time.  It is a great way to use up the "bits" left over when covering a card with patterned paper.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

12 Months of Christmas - midway for March

Have you started creating cards for Christmas yet?  If you have, why don't you link up to our challenge at 12 Months of christmas which you can find here.  If you link up two cards in a month, you receive a digital paper (and you are two cards more organised for the end of the year!).  If you follow this months theme of Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow, then you are also in with a chance to win a prize from this month's sponsor - Scribbles Designs.

I have used Snow Fun from Scribbles Designs for my card:

I have also used two papers from this months set called "Snowfest" as well as another one from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles which came as part of the monthly set for 2013.  It worked so well with these two newer papers that I just couldn't resist using it!

I used one of my new dies from Spellbinders to cut out the image and also used a die from a magazine to cut the snowflake from some glitter cardstock.

The sentiment that I have used also comes from Scribbles Designs and can be found here.

Scribbles - Feline Frenzy

Midway through March already!  So it is time for a new challenge at Scribbles Designs.  This month our theme is "Feline Frenzy" so we have lots of feline inspiration for you here.  I'm sure that many of you love creating with images of kitties so I look forward to seeing the various feline themed cards you are creating!

I have used Caturday and Nimble Puss as well as Puppy Power Papers.

I  have added faux stitching around both the image and sentiment.  The image and sentiment have both been die-cut with dies from Spellbinders.  I also added some pearls and some mesh ribbon.  Colouring of the image is with copic markers.

Serendipity - Midway Post

Wow.  We are halfway through March - so it is time for a reminder of the challenge going on at The Path Of Positivity.  This month we have the theme of Serendipity.  You can find all the inspirations for the midway point here and the details of the challenge here.

We are sponsored by Sami Stamps and Luna Girl for this challenge:

I have used an image from Sami Stamps for my midway point card.  The image is called A Little Bit O Luck and can be found here.

I have used a paper and matching pearls from Rosie's Studio paper pad called "Enchantment".  The sentiment was prepared for me by Lisa Décosse from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  I added some stickles around the edge of the sentiment and image.  The image is coloured with copic markers.

I thought that this sentiment was a great match for this image - she is prepared with her "lucky" four leaf clover!

Incy Wincy Designs - Colour Challenge

I have a few posts that should have gone out this morning but life got in the way somewhat!

The first post is to let you know of the new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs this week.  We have for you a colour challenge which can be found here.

We are sponsored this week by Limited Runs and Kenny K:

Here is the inspiration card that I created using an image from Kenny K called Sassy Sadie:

I coloured Sadie using copic markers.  The die cuts I have used are an oval from Spellbinders and a more decorative oval from Marianne's Designs.  The paper is from Kaisercraft.  I also added some pacifica style embellishments and some pearls dotted around the image.

CAS Vintage Car

I wanted to keep this card Clean and Simple - partly because I wanted a masculine card but also because I wanted the image to stand out.

I'm working full time today and Monday as well as the weekend so not sure if I'll be able to do any crafting till Tuesday.  Gives me something to look forward to!  Last day of full time work during the week next Thursday so I'll get some more me time after that!

Hello Summer

I wish it was!  Today is a wet and thundery autumn day here.  I am nearing the end of my six weeks of ridiculous hours - and missing my crafting alot.  I found myself with a little bit of spare time on my hands today (first time in ages!) and I was inspired to create a summery themed card to brighten my dull day!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Meljens Designs Studio - Seeing Double
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/challenge-250-seeing-double.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft for the background.  The images are both from Meljens Designs Studio and have been coloured with copic markers.  To complete the summery beachy theme I have added some shell shaped embellishments.

Bucket of Flowers

February is such a hectic month for me.  I am now scrambling to complete the cards for the progressive challenges!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
The Outlawz Progressive Challenge - February
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/freebie-progressive-challenge/forum/topics/progressive-freebie-challenge-february-1st-2015

I have used a paper from a paper pad from Rosie's Studio.  The image is the freebie image from the progressive challenge at The Outlawz and is by Sandi Samples. I coloured using copic markers and then added Kindy Glitz to the heart.  The frame around the image is a Sizzix die cut from gold paper. I coloured some ribbon flowers using copic marker YR02  and added these along with some pearls to the top of the card.  I also added some dots made with Kindy Glitz under the image.
