Softness in Pastel

There is a real soothing softness in pastel colours.  At the moment I'm still fighting this chest infection that I have so it is soothing to create something in pastels.  Mind you, I did have a bit of trouble finding embellishments in pastel shades - it is amazing how much I have in bright cheery colours!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Spellbinding Challenge - Pastel Colours
http://www.spellbindingstamps.blogspot.co.nz/2016/04/pastel-colors-challenge.html

Hello Friend

Here is another card that I have made just to say Hello!  I was inspired by the colour palette at QKR Stampede - including using the layout of the colours as a sketch basis!

Snowman and Cocoa

After a week away catching up with my son and his swimming, I'm back home again and managing to create a little.  I have a lot of housework to do though as well so I might be a few days before I really start getting on top of things again.  For this card, I have gone with a CAS style:

Anything Goes at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends

Sorry everyone - this post is later than it should be.  I'm away from home with patchy internet access and I'm not getting as much done as I should.

Anyhoo, I am here now with some information on the new challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.  As usual, we have a theme of Anything Goes and would love to see you join in with your crafty projects.

For this challenge, we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps and Lemon Shortbread

I have used an image from Lemon Shortbread called Islander Flower Girl

I also used some papers from Michele R Designs which I layered with some pale yellow pearlescent paper.  I sprayed a doily with some Dylusions Ink and then added some Liquid Pearls.  I die-cut a flower using a Marianne's die and then added some dots of Liquid Pearls.  To make the Liquid Pearls look like it was radiating out from the flower I dragged a toothpick through the Liquid Pearls.  To finish, I added three dots of Liquid Pearls to the top right.

Here is the sketch:

Inspired by a song, a book or a movie

There are plenty of possibilities there - so come and join us in our new challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.  For this challenge, we are sponsored by Melonheadz and Sami Stamps.

For my first make, I have used an image from Sami Stamps called Beauty Roses.

For my second make, I have used a set from Melonheadz called Alice in Wonderland.

Spring Butterfly

I'm a bit late with my posts for Design Teams this week!  I am away from home and although I have internet access, I am not always close to my computer.  I have a few hours now to do some catching up!

It is the middle of April - so time for a new challenge at Scribbles Designs.  This month we have a theme called "A Little Note to BUG you" - so we want to see some bugs on your project.

For my card, I have used a Friday Freebie image which can be found here.

I have also used a chevron patterned paper from Rosie's studio.  The butterfly is coloured with copic markers and the inner portion of the wings are glittered with Stickles.  I also used some ribbon and some glitter epoxy circles from Grace Taylor.

I have used patterned papers from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from From The Heart Stamps and  coloured with copic markers.

Here is the sketch and twist that I followed:

Solar

I tried to keep this within the colours that I associate with the sun - which also happen to be my two favourite colours!

I have used a yellow card blank this time and added some orange mesh ribbon.  The image is from Beccy's Place - and for a change I didn't use copic markers for the colouring!  I got out two colours of Distress Inks - I used the lighter one first and then added a bit more depth with the darker one.

The epoxy circles are from This & That - and I found them on clearance yesterday.  There are three different colours in the pack so I'm sure you'll be seeing me use more of these soon!

This is the second card where I have used the same two papers from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  I used the offcuts of one as contrast on the other!  The image is from All Dressed Up and is coloured with copic markers.  I added some Stickles to the fairy wings.  I also used some clear rhinestones coloured with a red copic marker (R59) and a flower embellishment (it came with the gem in the centre)

Just Dance

I have kept the card fairly CAS as I didn't want to distract away from the silhouette image.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2016/04/challenge-306-always-anything-goes_11.html

I have used two papers from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  The silhouette image and sentiment are from Pickled Potpourri Designs.  I added a bit of colour to the silhouette using copic markers R46 and R35.  I also added some faux stitching using a Distress Marker.

I am currently staying in a motel room on my way to see my son and the lighting here isn't brilliant.  I have ended up with a bit of a shadow at the bottom of the photograph as a result!

Spring - in Autumn!

A spring card out of season - at least it is for me anyway.  Here we are in autumn - although so far I haven't seen many trees in autumn colours.  Alot of people near me seem to have more evergreen trees.

I changed the shape of the image from the circle in the sketch to an oval as that suited my image better.

Christmas Blessings

I decided to use a large mat for the image - so I could show off some embossing!

Di's Digis - Embossing
http://disdigidesignschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2016/04/embossing-challenge.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Sugar and Spice Studio (I have had this particular pad for a couple of years and still have some left in it!).  I embossed a piece of lightweight green cardstock with a dots embossing folder and \used that to mat the image from Di's Digital Downloads. The image is coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.

Poinsettia - and more poinsettia!

Isn't it funny how you can look at a paper in a paper pad and see one thing and then when you photograph it realise that it is different to what you thought.  I just thought this one was a striped paper until I was adding the watermark and realised the "stripes" were music staves.  Even now, knowing that, I can't see the staves unless I tilt the card in a certain direction!

That's right - it is midway through the christmas challenge at CHNC Extra for April.  And I have a reindeer card this time using an image from a set called Mini Set - Christmas Blocks from Bugaboo Stamps.

I have used a reindeer themed paper from Sugar and Spice Studio.  I added some mesh ribbon over the top.  I also die-cut the foil inner lid from a Drinking Chocolate tin using a Spellbinders scallop die and then added an embellishment on top.

Bah Humbug

What do you do when you can't sleep?  I went to bed a couple of hours ago - and tossed and turned for a while.  Then I decided I would get up and find a digi in my printed digis box and create a card with it!  I had printed out these digital papers and not used them either so it was a chance to use them too.

Winter Wonderland - Christmas Baubles (embellishment)
http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2016/04/christmas-baubles.html

I have used two papers from Trimgym for this card.  The image is from Crafty Sentiments and has been coloured with copic markers.  I used a Mariannes Die for the diecutting.  I also added some lace from Sullivans, some pearls from Rosie's Studio, two bauble embellishments.  Matting is textured cardstock from American Crafts.

Spring Birdie

After having a very disrupted month of March, and April looking to fare not much better, it is great to have been able to craft some cards today!  This one is for the second challenge at Little Scraps of Heaven - I had intended joining in the first challenge but I didn't get any further than printing out the image!  Some day that card may get finished!

Steampunk Face

I bought this embossing folder a couple of weeks ago as I wanted something I could use for more masculine cards.  I just had to use it when a steampunk themed challenge came up!

Snow Lady

For some reason when I looked at the sketch at From The Heart Stamps, I wanted to create a Christmas card.  I think it might have been that I had the option of including quite a large piece of glitter cardstock!
