Matting is pink cardstock (source unknown) and embellishments are three ribbon roses coloured with copic marker.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
The Outlawz Sunday Challenge - CAS and sapphire blue
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/sundayscleanandsimplecas/forum/topics/cas-challenge-september-22-2013
Tiddly Inks - Saying Goodbye
http://tiddlyinkschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-118-saying-goodbye.html

I kept this card really CAS - sometimes less is more!  I have used a typewritten sentiment plus an image from Tiddly Inks which I coloured with copic markers B29 and B23.  Matting is blue cardstock.

Coffee Shop

A nice cheery wave from inside the coffee shop!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Fresh Brewed Designs - Surprise Image
http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/surprise-challenge.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Use Orange
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-190-use-orange.html

I have used a couple of bright papers from a paper pad by MME called Hootenany.  The image is from Fresh Brewed Designs as part of the Surprise Image Challenge.  There were two images supplied - one with an open door and the other with a closed door.  I decided to work with the open door image.  I have coloured the image in copic markers - not completely sure of most of the colours but I know the oranges and blues are YR07, YR04, B29, B23.  I think there may also be B000 and Y35 in there but not entirely sure.   I coloured a yellow wooden button with copic marker YR04 and then added three clear rhinestones also coloured with copic marker although not sure which one I used as I had coloured these for another project and not used them.  I have also used some orange mesh ribbon as part of the sketch.

Ornament

A Christmas ornament coloured in autumn shades!

I have used three Peppercus Design papers in autumn shades.  The image is also from Peppercus Designs and I have coloured it to match the papers.  I added some Stickles to the bow to make a feature of it.  The ribbon across the top of the card is from American Crafts.

Pens Pencils Paper

Okay - no pens.  Pencils on the paper!

A boy's Halloween card:

Craft Your Passion - No coloured in images
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-181-no-coloured-in-images.html

I have used a paper from my stash - originally intended as a scrapbooking paper but a great pattern size for cardmaking.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and left uncoloured.  I did add some Glossy Accents to the sucker to give it more of a sticky look.  I have added some ric-rac from my stash.

Trip to the Beach

Not quite the weather for that here yet!  Sun is trying to poke through the murky grey clouds though.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Stella Says Sketch - Sketch
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/stella-says-sketch-challenge-142.html

Incy Wincy Designs - Photo Inspiration (beach)
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/picture-inspiration.html

BINGO - Button, bling, primary colours

I have used a paper from a paper pad for the background.  The image is one from Bugaboo Stamps which I have coloured using copic markers in primary colours.  The button is from my Mum's button box and the bling is some I have had sitting in my stash for some time.

Bobblehead Owl

This is the first time I've used this lovely owl image and have chosen an autumn colour scheme for his first outing!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Catch The Bug - September BINGO
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/september-bingo-challenge.html

http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/stella-says-sketch-challenge-142.html

BINGO - Circle, Twine, Player's Choice (Bling)

I have used a background paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The bobblehead owl is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured using copic markers R59, R46, E18, E15, E11, Y38, Y35.  I used a circle die from Spellbinders for the die-cutting.  I have also added some baker's twine and some rhinestones.

Masculine Thank You Card

I have created a Thank You card for one of my childrens' teachers that has a bit more of a masculine feel to it:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
The Sweet Stop - Sketch
http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/sss229-sketch-with-spin-and-prize.html
Glitter n Sparkle - Male Cards
http://glitternsparklechallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-51.html

I have used three papers from a paper pad by Kaisercraft for this car.  The scallop border is also from the same paper pad.  The image is from Floppy Latte and coloured using copic markers C1, C3 and Y35 with a touch of Glossy Accents on the apple.

Creepshow

That is the name of the video in the latest challenge at Musically Challenged:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Musically Challenged - Creepshow by Kerli
http://musicallychallengedchallenge.blogspot.gr/2013/09/creepshow-challenge-9.html
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch 84
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/sketchie-free-for-all.html

I found a couple of images by Dillybeans that worked really well to represent the video.  The plaid leaf one reminded me of the shapes throughout the video.  My computer skills didn't enable me to create the background that I wanted with the leaf shape so I enlisted my teenage daughter to assist.  I coloured the leaves using copic marker YG11 and then stippled the piece with Distress Ink - Dusty Concord.  The other background piece is an offcut from another card.  The main image is also from Dillybeans.   I coloured this using copic markers E00, BV02, BV000, YG11.

The latest sketch at Papertake Weekly Challenge worked really well for this card.

I am hoping that I'll be able to participate in the next Musically Challenged challenge as I haven't missed any yet.  However, I'm out of town for the next two weeks so will have limited access to resources.  I'll just have to hope that I have the right stuff with me!!!

Autumn Leaves

I came across another new challenge this week and decided to give it a try:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Sami Stamps - Use punches or dies
http://samistamp.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/new-release-and-challenge-005.html
Love to Create - Colour Inspiration
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-84-color-inspired_23.html
All That Stickles - Fall Harvest Party
http://allthatstickles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/fall-harvest-linky-party.html
Peppercus Designs
http://peppercus-design-challengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-21-bis-14102013.html

I have used an autumn paper by Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The image is from Sami Stamps and is the one supplied for the challenge.  I coloured her in copic markers (forgot to write down the colours though).  The sentiment is from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  I have used dies from Spellbinders (scallop oval), Marianne's (swirly leaf) and Nellie Snellen (fancy scallop circle).

I'm hoping that this card is okay for the challenge at Peppercus Designs.  My first attempt I'd translated incorrectly and got the completely wrong idea.  This is attempt number 2!!!!

Birthday Girl

Although I have created this as a birthday card, it could be for a number of different occasions.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Flat Friends - Sketch
http://flatfriendschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/challenge-12-sketch-x.html
QKR Stampede - Balloon
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/qkr-stampede-weekly-challenge-57-flying.html

I have used some papers from a paper pad matted with some green scrap paper.  The image is from Flat Friends and coloured with copic markers in autumn shades.  I added a corner embellishment of pearls.

Wishing You a Happy Birthday

It's late at night and I'm struggling to think of inspiring post titles!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
The Alley Way Stamps - Be Inspired 37
http://www.thealleywaystamps.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/BE%20inspired%20Challenge

I have used a sheet of green paper from a paper pad by DCWV called Animal Crackers.  The image is from The Alley Way Stamps - coloured with copic markers and then some Glossy Accents added to the eyes.  The sentiment has been cut using a ribbon tag die from Spellbinders.  The grosgrain ribbon is from American Crafts.

Vellum, Bling and Stitching

I haven't used vellum on cards for a long time so today was the chance to have a play:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Gems & Bling
http://deliciousdoodleschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-54-gems-and-bling.html

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Sketch #84
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/sketchie-free-for-all.html

I have used a square card blank for this card.  The two papers that I have used both come from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The leafy one has a piece of stitched vellum over the top which has softened the colours somewhat.  The image is from Delicious Doodles and has been coloured with strong autumn colours using copic markers - R59, R46, YR02, G17, G14, Y35.  I have added a square of gems around the image to highlight the image further.  The sentiment is from Sans Designs.

Golfer

I thought this paper looked a bit like one of the fabrics that golfers tend to wear!  Can't you tell I'm not a golfer!!!

http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/september-challenge-better-late-than.html

I have used a paper from Trimgym for the background.  The image is golfer from Kenny K.  I have coloured golfer with copic markers BG49, BG15, BG09, B000, E29, E25, E00.

Hi There Kitty

A couple of more masculine cards - this is the first of them:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Trimgym - Anything Goes
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/september-challenge-better-late-than.html

I have used a tartan paper from Trimgym for the background.  The piece on the left is from MME and is an offcut from another card - it is actually a Christmas themed paper!!  The button is from my Mum.  I used an oval die and a scallop circle die - both are from Spellbinders.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and the main image is from Stitchy Bear Stamps.

Shades Of Brown - Flowers

Flowers in various shades of brown:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Shades of Brown
http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/challenge-60-shades-of-brown.html
Catch The Bug - September BINGO
http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/september-bingo-challenge.html

My BINGO line is embossing + handmade embellishment + sentiment

I have used an embossing folder and brown cardstock to create the background for this card.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps.  I don't think I've ever tried to colour flowers in browns before so decided to challenge myself to do that with this image!  I have used various copic markers in brown shades.  The handmade flower has been created with pearlised paper.  I rubbed one side with one colour of Cat's Eye pigment ink and the other side with a darker brown.  I then cut this out with my Marianne's flower die and crafted it into a flower.  I added some brown pearls for a bit more interest and also some Glossy Accents to the centres of the flowers in the image.

NZ Kiwi Card

I had fun with this card - keeping mainly to black and white with a hint of colour:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Ike's World - Tic Tac Toe (Lace + Dies + Buttons)
http://ikesworldchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/the-1st-ikesworld-challenge.html
Craft Your Passion - Uncoloured Image

Outlawz Friday Challenge - Country (New Zealand)
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/copicchallenge/forum/topics/alcohol-markers-challenge-september-20-september-26-2013
PINspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration (bird)
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/pinspirational-challenge-76.html

The colour scheme for this card comes from our national sporting colours.  We have the All Whites (football) All Blacks (rugby) Tall Blacks (basketball) etc.

I found a paper pad from Rosie's Studio that contained this paper which has our national bird (Kiwi) and our emblem (silver fern).  I edged the paper with a Marianne's die so that some of the white card blank shows through.  I added some black glitter tape from American Crafts to the top and bottom of the card.  I also added some black and white lace, some white buttons (these came from my Mum) and some black pearls (Sullivans brand).

As I chose to not colour the image - so that I kept the black and white theme, I used my copic marker 100 on the embellishment and corners of the image.   The embellishment is fairly typical of designs you would see in New Zealand.  However, this one was green which was going to ruin my colour scheme - copic marker to the rescue!!

Merry Christmas Lady

This is a beautiful vintage image of a lady which I decided to give a strong colour treatment to.  It seems to work okay.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
CRAFT Challenge - Colour Inspiration
http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/challenge-225-19th-of-september-colour.html

Trimgym - Anything Goes
http://trimgymsdigistampsandimages.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/september-challenge-better-late-than.html

The paper comes from Trimgym.  The image is an acrylic stamp from Flonz.   I coloured using copic markers BG49, BG09, BG15, B000, E29, E25 plus some Stickles - Crystal.  I also added three small brown pearls to the corner of the image.   I have also added some chocolate brown grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.

I have made a few cards this week using this colour combination.  I've just loaded the first one up to the CRAFT challenge and noticed only a few entries.  Considering three papers were available as freebies on the Trimgym blog, it is surprising.  Unless of course, everyone is even more last minute than me in getting their completed projects uploaded!!!

Winter Owl

A Christmas card with a different colour scheme:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

PINspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/pinspirational-challenge-76.html

I've never worked with this colour combination before but I'm really pleased with the effect of these colours together.  I've varied the sketch a bit from square to rectangular.

I have used two papers from Trimgym plus chocolate brown cardstock from Rosie's Studio for matting.  The image is from Digital Delights and has been coloured with copic markers E29, E25, BG49, BG15, BG09,B000.  I have also added some Stickles - Crystal.  I raised the image up above the remainder of the card using mount tape.  The glitter tape is from American Crafts and fitted in beautifully with the colour scheme.

I have used the front and reverse of a paper from MME for this card.  I matted with dark blue cardstock and also added some dark blue grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.  The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy.  I have coloured using copic markers and then added some Stickles - Diamond to her jacket trim.

Librarian

Here is my librarian in funky colours:

I have used a paper pad from DCWV called Animal Crackers. The image is from Broken Box Stock and is coloured in copic markers - most of which I forgot to write down.  I know that I used BV17 and C1 on her hair.  I cut a pennant from metallic paper and then embellished it with some lavender coloured pearls.

I have based my layout for the card on the current sketch at Fetch A Sketch.

I've gone with an unusual colour scheme for this card - partly driven by the colour challenge at The Outlawz Challenge

I have used two papers from MME to frame this lovely image from Delightful Inspirations - From the Heart.  The image is called "Drenched".  I have added a circle of rhinestones to the card to represent raindrops - really going with this drenched theme!  Colouring is with copic markers (which I forgot to write the numbers down!)

I forgot to add the sketch that was my inspiration for this card - here it is now:

I have used paper from paper pads by MME and DCWV for this card.  However, despite the fact they are from different companies I feel they work well together.  I have used chocolate brown cardstock from Rosie's Studio for matting.  The image is Old Boots from Beccy's Place - coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is an acrylic stamp oval cut with a Spellbinders die.  I have also added some faux stitching using a Distress Marker - walnut stain.

Jump in the Leaves

A lovely autumn card featuring a bunny and some leaves.  Here in New Zealand, we have autumn in March to May so it is always around Easter time.  So a bunny is quite an appropriate image for an autumn themed card.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Eureka Stamps Challenge - Colour Inspiration
http://eurekastamps.blogspot.co.nz/2013/09/happy-monday-everyone-thank-you-to.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad that I now can't seem to locate.  I think it was one that came free with a magazine.  The olive green paper is an offcut from another card - think it may be a paper from MME.  The burgundy grosgrain ribbon is from American Crafts.  The image is from Digi Darla and is called Joyful Bunny.  I have added a trio of leaves cut from green scrap paper using a Marianne's die and then embellished with a matching green pearl.

Indian Summer Thank You

I'm not sure if I have quite got the Indian Summer thing correctly.  I enlisted the assistance of Google and it seemed to suggest that it is an Autumn thing so I went with leaves and autumn colours.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is called Ava - School Sign It 2.  I love the huge pencil at the front!  I have coloured Ava in autumn colours.  The copic markers that I used for colouring are: G94, G82, E00, W1, Y000, C3, C1, R29, R27, C5, E25, E21.

Bit by the Bug Beginnings: Another Bug is Born

You are going to want to go and visit Creative Bug on the Loose today because a new Bug has been born. Naomi is sharing with the world her newest release:

 Sock Monkey - Manchester Family

Here is my card that I created using this wonderful digi:

I used two papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles for the background which co-ordinated well with the patterns on a couple of the sock monkeys.  I have used a Spellbinders Labels die to cut out the image.  The matting is pearlised paper.  The colouring of the image is with copic markers B24, B000, G02, G00, Y02, Y000, RV02, RV000 plus the addition of Stickles - Star Dust.  I found this wonderful sentiment at Desert Diva which fitted perfectly.  I die-cut the sentiment using a pennant die from Spellbinders and then added some faux stitching to carry the stitched theme through.  I also added some rhinestones across the top corner of the card.
The card roughly follows the sketch at Digi Haven.
