As soon as I looked at the April image at Beccy's Place, I knew what I wanted to do.  It has just taken me all month to get it finished.  It didn't help that my first attempt went all wrong and I had to start again.

Tis The Season To Be Jolly

I'm trying to get some of the challenges posted that finish today.  I had planned to get most of these done earlier this week but I had a hospital appointment that took up much of the day on Wednesday which has thrown me out a bit.  The good news with that is that I am now on a wait list for surgery and may actually get some improvement in my health as a result.  The worst part is going to be the waiting!

Christmas Candle

I tried something different for me today - good to get out of one's comfort zone occasionally!  This card is created using  paint and a die-cut.

For some reason I have bought a mix of styles of Distress Paint.  Some are the flip-top variety and some are dabbers.  For this project, I used the three dabbers for the background and two flip-top ones to colour the piece that I diecut the candle from.

I have used Distress Ink dabbers (Barn Door, Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender) for the background piece.  I painted another piece using a brush and Distress Ink Flip-tops (Twisted Citron and Lucky Clover).  Once this piece had dried I die-cut Memory Box 99004 (Tall Taper Candle).

Recycled/Upcycled

 I used a lot of double sided tape and I wanted to used the empty rolls for something. I paper-machied the rolls together and then die-cut a circle of cardboard for the base and paper-machied that as well.  I then applied a couple of layers of gesso and then acrylic paint.  The containers were then ready to decorate.

I also found some pictures of a previous project in progress, using double-sided tape refills so have included those here as well.  Hard to believe the transformation!

I applied a flower themed napkin (serviette) to the side of the container using Mod Podge.  I printed out the image from Crafty Sentiments three times, then coloured with copic markers and added them to the container equi-distant apart.  I added some butterfly stickers as well.
