Scrap Happy Crafter - sketch challenge

For this card, the challenge was to make a project using a Scrap Happy Paper crafter image and also one of a number of sketches provided.  Details of the challenge can be found here:

http://www.scraphappypapercrafter.com/2012/04/awesome-april-challenge.html

This card wasn't what I had originally intended to do but my mother-in-law had a stroke at the weekend and is in a hospital recovery ward at present.  She loves cats so as soon as I saw this image, I knew it was the right one for her.

Materials that I used for this card:

Spotty scrapbook paper
Paw print digital scrapbook paper
Grosgrain ribbon
Scrap Happy Crafter - Kitty get well
CPS sketch # 14
Nestabilities oval dies

Pikes Playground - Outdoor Activities

After getting the last challenge wrong as I didn't read it properly, I think I have this one sorted.  This challenge was all about "outdoor activities".  I particularly liked this image as it relates more to how we have Christmas as it is the middle of the summer here.  Don't quite have the tropical drinks here though!

Materials that I used for this one:
Christmas themed scrapbook paper
Green cardstock
Doodle Dragon image - CIJ Freebie
Merry Christmas stamp - Cardmaking in easy steps Issue 1
Copic markers

Sassy Studio Leather & Lace challenge - Card 2

I have kept this card relatively simple to showcase both the image and the angelina fibres.

Materials used:

Sassy Studio digital image - Jeannie

White cardstock
With Thanks acrylic stamp
Rhinestones

Winter Wonderland

This week I am trying a new challenge:

http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/04/buttons-and-bows.html

I am enjoying the Christmas card challenges as it is making me be alot more organised with my Christmas card making.  I have only just found this particular challenge.

This is the card that I have made for this week's challenge:

For some reason when I upload this picture on to my blog it rotates it.  I haven't figured out how to get it back up the right way!

Scrapbook paper - Lincraft
Merry Christmas acrylic stamp from Cardmaking in Easy Steps magazine
Spellbinders oval dies
Copic markers

Crimbo Crackers - Challenge 13

This latest challenge had a theme of festive food.  I found this wonderful stamp and matching paper to use.  I brought through the curvature of the icing into the scallop circle and the ric rac braid.  I also included rhinestones to reflect the holly berries.

Materials that I used for this challenge were:
GTC Crafty Corner - Christmas Pudding stamp
GTC Crafty Corner - Christmas Paper
Red ric rac braid
Scrapbook paper
Spellbinders dies - circles and rectangles
Red rhinestones

Dustin Pike challenge

Here is the card that I made for the latest Dustin Pike Playground challenge:

Actually, re-reading the challenge, I am not sure if this one fits the criteria but I have just got back from holiday and don't have time to do another card so just hope this one fits the bill!!!

I will learn to read posts properly in future, even when I am in a hurry and on a time limited internet access!!!!

I suppose you could say, at least I tried - and at least it is another card made for my card box (for when I need a card in a hurry).

Hugs,
Suze

TAWS Challenge

http://www.thealleywaystamps.blogspot.co.nz/2012/04/be-inspired-challenge.html

This is the card that I made for the Be Inspired 3 challenge:

I was inspired by the red and black in particular.  As I grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand, I grew up with these two colours.  In February, last year, Christchurch was struck by a large earthquake which destroyed alot of the heritage buildings that I grew up with.  Christchurch is now in recovery mode and I wanted this card to reflect that in some way - hence the Life is beautiful scrapbook paper.

I hope that you like the card.

Materials used:
TAWS stamp - Ladybird
Life is beautiful scrapbook paper
Grey cobble scrapbook paper
Blue striped scrapbook paper
Red rhinestones
Nestabilities labels
White cardstock
Red cardstock

Materials that I used for this one are:

Sassy Studio - Grecian Gracie
Lace
Paper
Crystal stickers
Glitter cardstock
Copic markers

Sorry for the delay in including the card in this post.  The public library computer that I was using while I was on holiday had a very slow upload speed and kept timing out before including the images.  I am so glad to be back on a faster internet speed.

Card for Emily

I have finally managed to photograph the card that I made for Emily last week.

For this card, I used one of the special images that Dustin Pike has made available.  I have used a strong pink and purple colour theme as these are Emily's favourite colours.  I have continued with the animal theme using a cat paw print paper on the card.

Products used:

Pink cardstock
Cat pawprint paper
Kindy Glitz
Purple rhinestones
Purple glitter cardstock
Dustin Pike - Daisy and Buttercup
Copic markers

I hope that Emily enjoys this card.

For anyone who is reading this that hasn't come across this before, please read the following blogpost:

http://www.scrappinforkenzie.blogspot.co.nz/2012/03/cards-for-emily-blog-hop-2-feat-dustin.html

Hopefully I've pasted that correctly!

Dustin Pike - Dudley challenge

After missing the deadline in the last Dustin Pike challenge, you would think I'd be more organised this time!  However, life happens!!!  At least I did get my card finished even if it is cutting it very fine.

As it happens I ended up with two cards.  I started one card and didn't like how it was going and put it to one side.  This is the second card that I started making:

It uses the following products:
Dustin Pike image - Dragon carol
Holly scrapbook paper
Red grosgrain ribbon
Copic markers
Nestabilities die
Sponged Anna Griffin ink

After finishing that card yesterday but not getting around to photographing it until today, I went back to the first card and was able to finish that one too.  I needed to get it finished as it is for a family who are leaving the area.  They have three boys so I wanted to do a card that had a more masculine feel - hence the creativity block.  I so struggle with cards with a masculine feel so I'm pleased that I managed to complete this one.  So, I decided I would add it to the post:

This one uses:

Dustin Pike image - Freebie from 27 Apr 2011
Scrapbook Paper
Nellies edging die
Copic markers
Best wishes - came with cardmaking magazine (brand unknown)
