I have created a Happy Birthday card based on the autumn colours:
This card is for the following challenges:
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes

De Creatieve Zebra - Anything Goes
http://decreatievezebra.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/challenge-36-alles-maganything-goes.html
Love to Create - Shades of Autumn

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/search/label/Sweet%20Sketch%20Wednesday%20Sketch%20%23179-109%20Stampfairy
This is the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday that I based the card upon:
I used some background papers from my stash. The image is from Bugaboo. I have added a glitter tape and also a sparkly flower. The flower was originally pink and purple but I coloured it with my copic marker to match the card colours.
I'm having huge problems with my internet at the moment and cannot get the direct link to the challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday - so at this stage have a link to the blog. Will keep trying to fix it but I'm very fast losing patience with the internet at the moment!
Fixed it - worked out I could click on the labels above the comments and that worked! Yay!
Missed the deadline for the Catch the Bug one - my maths wasn't working too well this week!

Giving Thanks
The challenge at Incy Wincy is all about Giving Thanks
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/giving-thanks-with-saturated-canary.html
I have made a general Thank You card - that is, not one specifically for teachers which is what I seem to be focussing on at present
The card uses a background paper from Webster's Pages from a collection combo pack - Western Romance & All about me. The image that I have used is from Saturated Canary and is called Rose Red. I'm not sure if it was the name of the image or that my daughter has auburn coloured hair but I tended to go with the red-auburn colour scheme for the hair!
I have glitzed the card up a bit with some glitter tape and also used some glitter cardstock from DCWV for the matting. I added some ribbon roses in a couple of sizes and colours to the card and then kindy glitzed them for a bit of extra sparkle. The Thank You sentiment is an acrylic stamp which I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Halloween Colours
The challenge at A Day for Daisies is to use Halloween colours:
http://www.adayfordaisies.blogspot.co.nz/2012/10/new-release-102612-green-eyed-monster.html
I started this card with a freebie from Create with TLC. This was intended for quick scrapbook pages but I looked at it and thought it would be a good base for a card:
I cut out most of the circle in the middle and placed the image from A Day for Daisies behind. I have coloured the image using copic markers. I then blinged up the "quick scrapbook page" with a clear bubble sticker (over the circle in the centre of the web) and some rhinestones. I also added the word Boo! using a Distress Marker.
For what should have been a quick card, it has taken a while to submit it - mainly due to a really slow internet connection at the present. However, I am thankful for what I have as I know there are some in the US still without power.

Canterbury Angel
I think hearing and reading about Sandy has brought back to mind the earthquake that the region I grew up in suffered in February 2010. Even now, they are still having aftershocks (I think they have had over 10,000 aftershocks - some small others not). The colour scheme for this card is inspired by the red and black of the Canterbury region (NZ).
I am entering this card in the Sassy Studio Fabulous Freebie Friday challenge.
http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/sassystudiodesigns/forum/topics/fabulous-freebie-friday-10-26-12-and-challenge
This is the image from week one of the challenge which I hadn't got around to creating anything with! She is called Sassy Angel. I've started with a black card blank then layered some red paper from DIY and Digital Designs. The image has been coloured with copic markers and the halo glittered. The image has been die-cut using a Spellbinders oval die and matted onto black cardstock. I have then added various rhinestones in the corners of the card.
I do hope that there is an angel looking over those affected by Sandy. I can imagine how hard it has been for affected people to vote yet it is important that they do. I'm hoping their road to recovery is a short one.

Thank You Teacher
My son and daughter are nearing the end of their school year and will need some Thank You cards for their teacher. Just in time, a challenge for Thank You cards at Sassy Studio Designs:
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/dare-to-be-sassy-thursday-149.html
I have used the Sassy Studio Designs image Mrs Sassy for this card. I changed her chalk board into a white board as my children's teachers use white boards.
The background paper for this card comes from Shabby Princess - from the Harvest Spice kit. It was just perfect for this card. The ribbon that I have used is grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts. I die-cut the image using Spellbinders Labels die and then matted it with another of the papers from the Harvest Spice kit. The sentiment is from Digital Doodling. I added a strip of diamond shaped rhinestones and Ta-da another completed Thank You card.
