Merry Christmas

November seems to have flown by.  The alphabet challenge at Beccy's Place is up to the third last letter of the alphabet.  It doesn't seem that long ago that we were at A.  Undeniably, this is the letter that I usually find one of the hardest.  Whilst I have a favourite card fold in the X-Fold Card that I happy to pull out each year and decorate differently, the images that I use each year are a push to be X.  Instead of using an image beginning with X, I use images that have an X on them - generally four holed buttons with thread in an X pattern.  I really need to have another good look through Beccy's images to see if she has snuck in any more X's on her images since I last looked.

This year I secured the card with a belly band (also with an X on it):

and with the belly band removed:

X on bells around neck

Warm Winter Wishes

Here is another scrap card that doesn't follow a tutorial.  The offcut pieces were a similar size and in neutral colours so the layout worked.  They are also good neutral colours for a masculine card.

I have used paper scraps from Day Seven (F), Day Nine (H) and Day Fifteen (M)

Christmas Music Makes Me happy

For a change, this Scraps Card isn't following a tutorial.  It came from me laying the pieces on the card and finding that they fitted well together.

I have to say that I can relate to this sentiment.  I particularly like listening to the live brass bands that go around the streets playing carols.  I created a Christmas playlist on Spotify as well with some traditional Christmas carols and some more modern Christmas songs.

I have used paper scraps from Day Thirteen (K), Day Fourteen (L) and Day Eighteen (P) .  I had several pieces that fitted sideways alongside a vertical piece.  The colours worked reasonably well together too.  The fussy cut image and the sentiment are from Beccy's Place.

Celebrate the season

This is the second card created using the same tutorial.  I am fairly certain that I will end up doing at least one or two more of this same design as some of the pieces can be relatively small.

I have used paper scraps from Day Two (B), Day Five (E), Day Sixteen (N) and Day Nineteen (Q)

I followed a tutorial from Anna Helman.

Friends Warm The Heart

I finished off two scraps cards that are from the same tutorial.  This first one is in red and the other colour scheme will be uploaded shortly.

I have used paper scraps from Day Three (C), Day Fourteen (L), Day Eighteen (P), Day Twenty Three (U).  The sentiment is from Beccy's Place.

Seasons Greetings

I am back with another strips card.  I have a few that are nearly completed so I may have more to load tonight.

I have used papers from Day Two (B), Day Seven (F), Day Nine (H), Day Fifteen (M), Day Sixteen (N), Day Eighteen (P) and Day Twenty One (S).  I placed the digital sentiment from Beccy's Place on an angle and then worked the strips to the same angle.

I followed a tutorial for a Scraps Card by Sam Calcott.  This one is the fifth one in the video.

Holly Jolly Christmas

I am taking a bit of a break from creating Scraps cards to have a play with a fun fold I discovered a couple of days ago.  I found another one this morning that I would also like to attempt soon.

inside of card:

I used papers from a 30cm x 30cm Christmas paper pad that I found some time ago.  I actually prefer the 12 x 12 paper pads if I can find them as many of the tutorials use that size.  Problem is that they seem to be really hard to find in NZ.  The image is from Paperbabe Stamps and the sentiment is from Beccy's Place.

I followed a tutorial for a Centre Half Flap Card from Creating with Kristina.
