It is time for the December Card Chain Challenge Reveal. For December, our prompt was a Tic Tac Toe Board.
I was sending a card to Renate (which at time of writing this post I don't think she has received). I decided to use all the elements to create this card for her.
I used a bee and a bird image from Gecko Galz. The background is a New Zealand themed embossing folder featuring the pohutukawa flower. Once embossed, I swiped the piece with some blue and yellow gilding polish. I added some washi tape in black and white across the card. I tore the edges of the friendship sentiment from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.
I have yet to receive my card for the December Challenge - possibly because I spent Christmas in another city with my son and daughter. We are fortunate that we are able to travel freely as we have had no community transmission for a number of weeks.
For those unfamiliar with the pohutukawa flower, this is a photo I took while I was with my son and daughter. It is a tree that flowers during December and has earned itself the nickname of "New Zealand Christmas Flower" as a result!
Update - It finally arrived to Renate on January 7th.
This is lovely, Suze. Well done for using all the different elemnts of the Tic-Tac-Toe, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card! And that is a very pretty flower! I was not familiar with it before!
ReplyDeleteIt is native to New Zealand.
DeleteFabulous card using the full board, Suze - just love it!! Love the photo of flowers too - when I visited it was late Feb/early March (yrs ago) and I don't remember them so they must be done blooming by then, eh?
ReplyDeleteIt is a coastal tree so if you only visited inland towns and cities you may not have seen them. They grow well in both Coromandel and Wellington. I think they flower from November through to end of January (depending on the variety).
DeleteLovely post and great ideas. x
ReplyDeleteLove the design of this card! Renata is one lucky recipient. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I like how you use the embossing folder!!!
ReplyDeleteA great card Suze - love that pohutukawa embossing folder.
ReplyDeleteStay safe
Blessings
