This month at Path of Positivity, we are sponsored by Pattie's Creations and Scribbles Designs. The optional twist for the challenge is Try Something New. My something new is a technique that I have wanted to try for quite a while.
I have used an image from Pattie's Creations called Antique Sewing Machine. The sentiment is from Scribbles Designs.
When I first learned to sew at school we made pincushions using a central hexagon with contrasting hexagons surrounding it. The we backed it and filled with some filling. I've always wanted to try to see if I could get that to translate onto a card. A while back I bought some hexagon dies so I try it - and still hadn't. This gave me the impetus to actually see if I could get it to work on a card using self-adhesive fabric. It was a little bit of a challenge as the fabric struggled to hold it's shape. I ended up backing the fabric with cardstock before I cut it out so it held better.
The dies used are from Nellie's. I faux stitched around each hexagon using a pigment liner pen. The fabric is a self-adhesive fabric from a dollar store.
A great concept and a wonderful card Suze - well done
