Ideally this card fold should be made with a double-sided paper for the explosion part. As I didn't have any, I inked one side with some Distress Ink to take the whiteness out of one side. I ended up using that side as the more visible side.

I have used two digital papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles. The image is from The Paper Shelter and the sentiment on the inside is from Beccy's Place. Colouring of the image is with copic markers, Wink of Stella and Kindy Glitz. I attached a Santa face sticker to the belly band.
I followed a tutorial for a Gate Fold Explosion Card from Lisa Curcio
Fun card! I made one of these for my nephew's birthday once. He just loved it.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Suze, I love the fold. Explosion cards are always popular, I think people are surprised when they open it up and the card is suddenly much larger. I like your idea of inking the reverse side of the paper, and it looks like you chose the perfect colour.
