http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/trio-tastic.html

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio.  The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy.  I added a sentiment from Desert Diva.  I coloured with copic markers and then added some Stickles to the flower centres.  I also added a layered flower and three pearls from Rosie's Studio.

Shaving Cream Technique

When I saw this technique I really wanted to try it.  But, every time I went to the supermarket I would forget to buy the shaving cream.  Today, I made a special trip to get it and I'm so glad I did.  It was so fun to do.  I have even done a few spare ones with scrap pieces of cardstock.  I think when I get the chance to have another go at this, I'm going to try some different colour combinations.

I have used some scrapbooking paper for the background.  The contrast pieces for the background were made using the shaving cream technique (link below).  I used brown cardstock from Rosie's Studio for the matting.  The image is from Lemon Shortbread Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I also used some grosgrain ribbon, a flower and a pearl.

The tutorial that I followed for the shaving cream technique can be found here:

This card was spotlighted at The Outlawz

Blowing in the Wind

When I think of the wind, I think of flowers and leaves blowing everywhere.  I've tried to incorporate that feeling in the card.

Life is better in the summer

Yeah - when it is nice and warm and you don't have to have the heater running most of the day!  Like now!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Feeling Sketchy - Sketch
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/sketch-123.html

I'm not sure why I am entering Feeling Sketchy challenge. They had a special challenge for National Scrapbooking Day which I apparently won second prize in.  However, the only means of contact appears to be by Facebook - which I am not on!  I left a comment on the post but didn't get a reply.  I liked the sketch though - I'm kind of addicted to working with sketches and many of the sketch challenges I have done have disappeared in recent times.  So, I decided to put an entry in anyway seeing as how I had used the sketch!

Anyway, back to the card.  I used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft for this card.  The sentiment is also from a Kaisercraft paper pad (a different one though).  I wrapped some twine around the sentiment - reminds me of the rope you find around boats.  I also added a seashell shaped bead as an embellishment.  The image is from Kenny K and is coloured with copic markers.

Best Wishes

When I saw this image I knew I wanted to print it three times and fan it across the card.  The hard part was actually deciding what sentiment I wanted to use!

I have used a patterned paper from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  The image is from From The Heart Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I also added some faux stitching using Distress Marker - Tattered Rose.  I used the Tattered Rose Distress Ink to edge the sentiment.  The sentiment is also from From The Heart Stamps.  I used Spellbinders rectangle and pennant dies for the die-cutting.  I added a butterfly charm.

And here is the sketch I followed:

Such a great masculine image - and I found some vehicular paper to go with it.

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  The image is from Stitchy Bear Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I die-cut using a Spellbinders die and then inked the edge using Distress Ink.  I also inked the edges of the sentiment from Glitterbabe.  I have also used some grey ric-rac braid on the card.

Through the Years

This card represents my daughter throughout the years - when she was younger she always had her nose in a book (image), as she got older she started to appreciate nature (border) a bit more and now she is doing a degree in costuming (lace and buttons)

http://alldressedupchallenges.blogspot.no/2015/06/challenge-37.html

The background paper, sentiment tag and floral border are from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  I added some purple lace to the card as well.  The image and sentiment are from All Dressed Up.  I coloured with copic markers and then added some faux stitching around the Spellbinders Labels die-cut.  I also added three purple buttons of differing sizes to the sentiment tag.

The Fabric of Life

Another sewing themed card.  With a daughter doing a degree in costuming, I'm starting to do more cards with a sewing theme.

Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
http://craftyourpassionchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/challenge-267-always-anything-goes.html

For this card, I used a paper from a paper pad called "Needle and Thread" by Kaisercraft.  I added some lace which I thread through some ribbon (more from my bargain purchase a few months back!).  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is coloured with copic markers E00, E41, E41k Y06, Y02, BG15.  I also added some faux stitching around the edge of the card and the edge of the image using a Distress Marker - Peacock Feathers.  The pearls are from Rosie's Studio.

Flowers in teal, orange and pink

The centre of the flower in this image reminded me of a button - so I adhered a button there!  I found a flower shaped button so it is a flower inside a flower.

Just couldn't resist alliteration for the title!

Sentimental Sundays - Male
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/challenge-264-happy-fathers-day-or.html

I was in a funny head space when I chose the paper for this card.  When I saw a woodgrain paper I thought of bark - then I thought dog - bark!  Okay, maybe not the best of the connections but I did say I was in a funny head space!

The paper is from Rosie's Studio.  The image is from Pink Gem Studios and is coloured with watercolour pencils.  The die's used on the image and matting are wonky rectangles from Spellbinders which I bought on special this week.   I already had the wonky squares so thought I'd get the rectangles too.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.  I also used some blue satin ribbon on the card - this is more from the bargain lot of trims I bought a couple of months ago.

Grumpy Dragon

Yep - that's how I feel at times.  However, a dragon is also a good image for a masculine card.

I have used a paper from a boy's paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  The image is Grumpy Dragon from Rick St Dennis.  I coloured the image using copic markers.  The sentiment is from Netty's Cards.  I added some stripes behind the image and sentiment using a gold pencil.  The matting is brown cardstock from Rosie's Studio.  I also used some lime green mesh ribbon.

Paper Pieced Christmas Kitty

Normally when I try paper piecing, I only piece part of the image and use copic markers to colour the rest.  This time I have used three different papers for the paper piecing - and no copics!!

Hot Hot Hot

I used a trio of images and a sentiment with a trio of words!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Trio
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/trio-tastic.html

I used a stencil of water drops for the background.  I was thinking spray from a wave!  The image is from Neat and Tangled and is repeated and then punched into circle shapes.  I used a sentiment with Hot repeated to match the trio of images.  The piece behind the images is textured cardstock.

Just keep swimming

As I am a swim instructor/coach, I tend to be drawn to sentiments like this one.  They are great when you have a swimmer that you have worked with moving to another part of the country.  I have one girl I'm taking at the moment who is shifting in about 10 days time so this is perfect timing.

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called "Sandy Toes".  The image and sentiment are from the Digi of the Month set from Deedee's Digis.  I coloured the image with copic markers and edged the image and sentiment with Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick.

Till the cows come home

I have plenty of wooden cow embellishments that I have had for a very long time and never used.  When I realised I had a cow image that I hadn't used either I decided to put them both on a creation.

Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes

I have used black cardstock and an embossing folder "Heavy Duty" for the background.  I added some washi tape on the diagonal.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and coloured with copic markers RV02, 100, C7, C1.  I used some patterned paper for the mat and added a wooden cow embellishment that was already 3D but then raised it up from the card to give it even more dimension.

Picnic Time

Definitely not picnic weather here at the moment with frosty mornings and still chilly throughout the day.  Although at least the sun is shining!

Clear It Out Challenge- Your Style + Favourite Craft Product

This was a hard one as I don't really have just one favourite craft product.  I love using dies, ribbon and pearls so I have included all of these for the card.  My style would have to be CAS although this one isn't as CAS as I often do.

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio that always makes me think of tablecloths for picnics.  The image is from Lacy Sunshine and is coloured with copic markers.  I also used some red organza ribbon and some pearls which I coloured with copic marker YG03.

I have used some papers from a Christmas paper pad by Sugar and Spice Studio - with the top two papers being offcuts from other cards.  The image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and coloured with copic markers and sparkle added with Stickles - Diamond.  I also added some self-adhesive candy cane embellishments.  The glitter was coming off the red ones a bit so I added some Stickles over the top to help it stay there!  Matting is with red cardstock from Rosie's Studio.

Butterfly Canvas

My walls are starting to look a bit more colourful now that I have completed a few canvasses, although I think I need a few more yet.

I would like to enter my canvas into these challenges:

Delicious Doodles - Anything Goes
http://deliciousdoodleschallenge2.blogspot.co.nz/2015/05/welcome-back-blog-hop-and-1st-monthly.html

I have sprayed the canvas with some Dylusions Ink.  I also used a different colour of Dylusions Ink to spray the frame and the butterflies.  All the images used are from Delicious Doodles - Butterfly Border, Butterfly and Fae.   I added some additional colour to the butterflies and flowers using copic markers.  I also used copic markers to colour the Fae image.  I added some glitter to the butterfly wings.  I also used some Memory Box stencils on the canvas itself as well as a piece of magic mesh and some white lace that I sprayed with Dylusions Ink to match the background (although it has turned out a different shade!).  I added a few pearls along the centre of the lace.

Drummer Boy

I have been having internet issues for the past couple of hours and unable to connect.  I didn't think I was going to be able to upload the card and canvas that I finished.  Fortunately, I managed to get a connection a few minutes ago - let's hope I don't lose it again!

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  The corner embellishments are dies from Spellbinders.  The image is from Sami Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers and then die-cut using a die from a different Spellbinders set.  I also used some lace and some white ribbon roses which I coloured with copic markers B05, YG06, BG13.

Here is the colour palette from Creative Colors:

Father's Day

I printed these two images out for another card and never got further than that!  This time I had a bit more inspiration and managed to complete the card.

I have used a paper from Rosie's Studio for the background.  It only had a subtle pattern on it so I decided to dress it up a bit by adding some mesh ribbon strips.  I also added a strip of blue organza ribbon going in the opposite direction.  The images are both from Eureka Stamps and I joined them together to create a scene.  I then matted them on to some brown cardstock and raised them up above the card.  I added some olive green pearls from Rosie's Studio.

CCC Digi Creations - Not quite straight
 http://cccdigicreations.blogspot.com.au/2015/06/challenge-27-not-quite-straight.html

I have used a paper from Kaisercraft for the background.  The pattern on it is "not quite straight" and I followed the pattern cutting along the right hand edge of the paper.  Going with the not quite straight theme is the edge of the front of the card as well as the placement of the image and matt.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is coloured with copic markers.  I added some Glossy Accents to the glass parts of the car.  The die I used is "Wonky Squares" from Spellbinders (which is also not quite straight).  The matt is black cardstock.  I used a Memory Box die to cut the right hand edge of the card.

Flying into Outer Space

Okay - the background paper is slightly random but I was thinking of "flying through the air" and in my head they went together.

The matting is blue cardstock.  I added a PeelOff Border along the edge of the paper and three blue star shaped rhinestones alongside.

Sailing

I have wanted to use this paper for a while - but haven't crafted with a boat image for a while.  This was my chance to use it.

I have used a paper from a paper pad - not sure of the brand of this one.  The image is from Zuri Artsy Craftsy and is coloured with copic markers and then fussy cut.   I added it to a rectangle die cut using a Memory Box die and then inked with Distress Ink - Tattered Rose.  I added a couple of contrast papers - both from Heidi Swapp and then a piece of organza ribbon.  I finished off by mounting up a sentiment from Digital Doodling.

Father's Day

For some reason, I always seem to use images of either vintage cars or golf for Father's Day cards.  I can understand the golf one as my father plays golf - but I'm not sure why I'm drawn to vintage car images!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:

Clear It Out - Flag Colours + metal
http://clearitoutchallenge.blogspot.ca/2015/06/so-sorry-im-late.html

I thought I would include a clip art image of my country's flag too:

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Heidi Swapp for the background.  The ribbon is some more of the bargain ones I bought a couple of months ago.  The image is from QKR Stampede and is coloured with copic markers and the matted on to red and then blue cardstock.  I also used a metal brad which I have had in my stash for some time - I'm actually now wishing I had bought more of them as I've nearly run out of them and haven't seen them again recently.

Happy Dance

Another post that is a bit on the late side - story of my week!

It is time for a reminder of the challenge over at Path of Positivity.  You can find some more inspiration from the DT members at the reminder post which you will find here.

The sponsors for this month are Imagine That and Sentimental Susan:

Here is the card I created using an image and sentiment from Imagine That.:

I have used a paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles as the backdrop for the image.  I thought she looked good doing her happy dance at the beach.  I die-cut the sentiment using a Spellbinders die and then added some faux stitching and some twin.

Retro Chick

It is the middle of June - and time for a new challenge at Scribbles Designs.

I have used a retro paper from a paper pad by Provo Craft which I have had for years!.  I also added some Magic Mesh (which I found in the bottom of my craft stash unused) which I coloured with Distress Ink Black Soot.  The image is from Scribbles Designs and is coloured with copic markers to match the paper.  I also used some red flower gems.

Vintage

I'm a bit late with this post. However, you still have heaps of time to join in the challenge at 12 Months of Christmas.  You can link up any Christmas card - but if you follow this month's theme of vintage then you have a chance of winning the prize from Luna Girl.

You can find the midway post with some inspiration from my fellow DT members here and the inlinkz can be found here.

I have used some gorgeous pre-coloured images from Luna Girl and teamed them with a pre-printed vintage sentiment and some lovely papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.

I have used a paper from MME for the background.  The image is from Gerda Steiner.  I coloured with copic markers and added some stickles.  The image and matt have been die-cut using two dies from a Spellbinders die set.  I also used some Christmas themed mesh ribbon and some olive green pearls from Rosie's Studio.

On The Farm

I've managed to find three challenges all sponsored by Deedee's Digis that inspired me to create this card.

I have used some scrapbooking papers for the background.  The image is from Deedee's Digis and is coloured with copic markers and then die-cut with a Spellbinders die.  I used some grey cardstock for the matting - the matting for the image has been cut with a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  I also used some yellow and white twine plus some Liquid Pearls.

Here is the sketch that I followed:

Christmas Book

When I bought some new sheets for the beds, they came with a folded cardboard in between.  I looked at the piece of cardboard and thought the shape looked like a book.  So all I have done with these is decorated them - the size and folds are as they were.

I would like to enter my book cover into these challenges:

Penny's Paper Crafty - Use favourite embellishment
http://pennyschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2015/06/welcome-to-pennys-challenge-231.html

I sprayed the cardboard "book" with Dylusions Ink.  The image is from The Paper Shelter and is sized to fit the front of the book with some room for embellishing the cover.  I coloured the image with copic markers.  The trees and "Joy" are dies from Memory Box which have been cut from glitter cardstock from American Crafts.   I have also used some other dies from Memory Box but cut these from glitter cardstock from DCWV.  I added some Liquid Pearls around the trees as falling snow and then five in a row at the top.

I don't really have just one favourite embellishment - I love my die-cuts (which I have used here) but I also love my mesh ribbon and my Stickles!

Hello

It's always nice to have cards that just say "Hello" - not for any specific occasion.  It's even better when you can find a cute image to use!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
From The Heart Stamps - Sketch #111 + Twist (use washi tape)

From The Heart Stamps - Stamp of the Month
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2015/06/06/free-stamp-of-the-month-june-2015/

I have used a paper from Heidi Swapp for the background.  It hasn't photographed well but it is a creamy colour with random patches of pinks and yellows.  I have used three different colours of washi tape for the four strips behind the image.  The image is the Stamp of the Month from From The Heart Stamps and is coloured with copic markers and then die-cut with a die from Spellbinders.

This is the sketch that I followed:
