Wedding Card

I don't tend to make a lot of wedding cards as I very rarely seem to know anyone who is getting married.  It must soon start getting to the stage of friends sons and daughters!!

I am entering the following challenges:
Crafting For All Seasons - No Designer Papers
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/challenge-73-no-designer-papers.html
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Add a Bow
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/challenge-168-bow.html

I embossed some gold metallic paper using an embossing folder.  The image is from Kenny K and coloured with a combination of colouring and outline colouring.  I die-cut using a Spellbinder Scallop Oval die and then added a pretty organza bow in a cream colour.

Christmas Sentiments

A card that highlights Christmas sentiments rather than a particular image - although I did sneak a Santa in there in the background paper!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Digi Stamps 4 Joy - Progressive Christmas Challenge
http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/monthly-christmas-challenge-march-2014.html

The Christmassy background paper is from MME.  The main "image" is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy as part of the monthly progressive challenge.  I printed it out and added a little colour to some of the words and then added a holly die-cut - which was cut from green cardstock using a Spellbinder die.  I added three rhinestones to represent holly berries.

Tropical Christmas

Although we have Christmas in summer, it is not quite as tropical as this!  However, I tend to be drawn to these images!

I am entering my card into these challenges:
From The Heart Stamps - Sketch # 059
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2014/03/24/i-heart-card-sketches-w-a-twist-no-59/
CHNC - Patterned Paper - March
http://craftyhazelnutspatternedpaper.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/craftyhazelnuts-patterned-paper-march.html

I have used two papers from Kaisercraft - Paradiso.  The background and circle have been cut from one of the pages.  The rectangles are all cut from the second page (which actually consisted of 12 of these rectangles so I have another 8 I can use on other projects).  I used an image from From The Heart Stamps which I coloured with copic markers.  I used the broad end of the copic marker B000 for the sky to give that drifty cloud like look.  I have added a flower shaped bead as an embellishment.

Here is the sketch that I followed:

I opted not to use the twist this time.

Think Spring

When I think of spring, I think of lots of flowers so I created a card using a flowery background, flower image and flower embellishment.

I am entering my card into these challenges:
Eureka Stamps - No Square cards
http://eurekastamps.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/eureka-stamps-weekly-challenge-82-no.html
Love to Create - BINGO (Sparkle + Yellow + Flowers)
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/challenge-108-bingo.html

The background paper is from DCWV.  I added some grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.  The image is from Eureka Stamps and coloured with copic markers G17, G14, YR04, YR02, Y06.  I added some Glossy Accents to the butterfly to give it some dimension.  I matted using some yellow glitter cardstock from DCWV (which I'm hoping counts as sparkle!).  Dies are from Spellbinders.  I added a flower which I coloured roughly using YR02 and then added a pearl from Rosie's Studio to the centre.

Sorry about the quality of the photo - not sure what happened here.  I need to get this uploaded now but will then try and see if I can get a better photo and update.  Second time lucky - this one is better!

It's time for a new challenge over at Incy Wincy Designs and this week the theme is an easy one - add ribbons, lace and pearls.  Here's what I created using a digi called Fairy Magic from sponsor All Dressed Up:

The Outlawz Monday Challenge - Use Green
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/birthdaycard/forum/topics/greetings-challenge-march-17th-st-patrick-s-day-use-green-on-your

I followed the sketch at Sunday Sketch and Stamp and used some background paper from Kaisercraft along with some offcuts for the die-cutting.  I also used a foil inner seal from my hot chocolate container for the circle.  I added some glitter tape from American Crafts and a sentiment from Sans Designs.  The main image is from Lacy Sunshine and has been coloured with copic markers and then die-cut with a Spellbinder Labels die.

Flower Girl in Pretty Pastels

The first time I coloured this image I decided it didn't look pastel enough - so I scrapped that one and started again!

Would you like some cherry pie?

I certainly would!  I decided to go for a baking theme for this card - probably inspired by the fact that I have had a tummy bug all week and haven't been able to eat much!

I have used a baking themed paper from Provo Craft for the background.  The image is Dottie - Baking from Bugaboo Stamps.  I have coloured her with copic markers.  The polka dot panel is left over from another card.  The pink rectangle has been die-cut from glitter cardstock (DCWV) and the image using an oval die-cut.  Both dies are from Spellbinder.  I have added some polka dot ribbon from American Crafts, and some pearls and rhinestones (both from Rosie's Studio).

I used a text paper from DCWV for the background.  The glitter strip is felt backed.  I used an offcut of green for the rectangle behind the image.  Matting is green cardstock.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and has been coloured with mainly green copic markers with some B000 for the water.  I have also added three small white pearls and three large oval rhinestones.

Sally's Song

This was my daughter's suggestion when I asked her what songs she knew with girls names in them.  Of course, it had to be a character with red hair!  The song is from "The Nightmare Before Christmas"

Sassy Studio Designs - Favourite Colours (Orange and Yellow)
http://sassystudiodesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/dtbst-221-its-up-to-you.html

I have used a pumpkin paper that I have had in my stash for some time.  It is a 30cm x 30cm size so the pumpkins are quite large for cardmaking!  The image is from Sassy Studio Designs and has been coloured with copic markers E00, R59, R46, YR04,Y06.  I added two large pearls from Rosie's Studio for stoppers.  The die cut is a Memory Box one called Gothic Window.  My daughter showed me a video clip of the song and I noticed the metal scroll work in it so wanted to incorporate that into my card.  I have used glitter cardstock from DCWV to cut out the die and then backed it onto black cardstock.

Celebrate

This card has been inspired by the Kool and The Gang song "Celebrate".  I have always had a love of music (not that I am any good at it but I can appreciate those that are!) and will often find inspiration in music so it is great that there are a couple of musically inspired challenges around.

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

I have used a background paper of clouds and rainbows from Provo Craft.  The image is from Eureka Stamps.  I think it is supposed to be a birthday image but I thought it looked like he was dancing in the rain!  Colouring is with copic markers and faux stitching with Distress Marker.  I have also used some green grosgrain ribbon.

Life Is Like Riding A Bicycle

I can definitely relate to that sentiment.  At the moment, I feel like the bicycle I am riding is forever being cut off by inconsiderate car drivers!  Instead, I should be enjoying a leisurely cycle in the countryside!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Card Makin Mamas - Mists, Sprays, etc

http://beinspiredchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/be-inspired-challenge-50.html

I used a background paper from Rosie's Studio for this card.  The image is from The Alley Ways Stamps and coloured with copic markers.  I sprayed some washi tape with Perfect Pearl Mists - Sour Apple.  I initially thought it wasn't going to work as it wanted to slide off the tape but some stayed put and has given the tape the greenish tinge that I was after.  I also added some rhinestones in a triangle formation to match the frame of the bicycle.

Paper Pieced Ava

I'm not a great fan of paper piecing - all the fiddly cutting! - but if there is a challenge featuring paper piecing I try not to shy away from it!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Brown Sugar - Paper Piecing
http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/challenge-85-paper-piecing.html
Catch The Bug - BINGO (ribbon + Bugaboo Image + pearls)

Katarina

I really loved this image the first time I saw it but haven't quite known what I wanted to do with it.  For this card, I decided on a less is more approach!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Delicious Doodles - Mainly Green
http://deliciousdoodleschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/challenge-79-mainly-green-for-st.html
Robyn's Fetish - Green and Glitter
http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/challenge-203-must-use-green-and.html
Kaboodle Doodles - Use Green
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/challenge-215-use-green.html

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  The image is Katarina from Delicious Doodles and has been coloured with copic markers E00, G17, G14, YR00.  I added some glitter with Stickles - Star Dust.  I also added some faux stitching using a Distress Marker.

I must admit I was tempted to add some embellishments but in the end felt it was detracting from the strength of the image and the green.
