Colour Inspiration

A colour inspired card:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
CDAC - Inspiration Photo
http://priscillastyles.ning.com/group/inspiration-challenge-group

For this card, I used some fabulous paper from Trimgym together with an equally fab image from Doodle Dragon Studio.  I used matching copics to colour the image - of course I forgot to write down which ones I used - I know G99 and G94 are in there and probably B000 but beyond that I'm guessing (possibly some in the W range too).  I really should keep them aside and write them down straight away but that would be being organised - something that I'm not!

Party Animal

I was going to say Party Cat but it didn't quite have the same ring to it!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Incy Wincy - Tic Tac Toe
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/tic-tac-toe.html
Love to Create - Colour Combo
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-71-color-inspiration.html
Meljens Designs - Add A Charm
http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-166-charming-project.html

I have used a green square card blank for this card.  The image from Meljens Designs has been die cut using a beaded square die from Spellbinders.  I embossed the beaded part to give it more definition.  The colouring of the image is with copic markers YG23, G05, G000, C3 and C1.  I have also added a metal charm to one of the "beads"

Thinking of You in Blue and Grey

A very cool colour scheme - possibly inspired by the cool temperatures today!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 212
http://sweetsketchwednesday.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/ssw-212.html
Incy Wincy Designs - Tic Tac Toe (Blue and Grey, Emboss, Lace)

The Outlawz CFC Challenge
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/cfc/forum/topics/creative-freebie-challenge-june-30-to-july-13

Here is the sketch that I followed:

I have used papers from MME and DCWV for this card.  The embossed half ovals are grey cardstock and have been embossed with a folder called "Heavy Duty" by Craft Creations.  The lace is some my mother gave me a while back which I think she has had for many years and not used.  The image is from Sandi Huggett as part of The Outlawz CFC Challenge.  I have added a Thinking of You sentiment from Sans Designs and also some buttons I got in a grab bag.

Lily's Flowers

Another card with a nice summery feel to it - if I make enough of them maybe the weather will take notice!  Ha ha.

I placed the sentiment on the inside:

Crafting for All Seasons - Make it girly
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-55-make-it-girly.html

I have coloured the image from Imagine That with copic markers and then matted with some pink paper.  The gingham paper is from a paper pad.

Floral Wreath

Another CAS card:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs - Tic Tac Toe (No DP, emboss, flowers)

Digi Haven - Flowers
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/floppy-latte-sponsors-our-fun-with.html

I have embossed some green cardstock using an embossing folder called Lovingly Baroque by Craft Creations.  The image is from Floppy Latte and has been coloured with copic markers YR02, G17 and G14.  I have also added some Green Stickles and three green pearls.

Fancy Christmas Bauble

A lovely decorative christmas bauble image backed by some bauble paper.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/chnc-challenge-extra-for-june.html

I have used a paper from Rosies Studio for the background of this card.  The image is one of two supplied by Digi Stamps 4 Joy for the challenge at Lady Anne's this month.  The image is coloured with copic markers and then die-cut with a Spellbinders circle die.  The matting is red cardstock.  The grosgrain ribbon comes from American Crafts.  The sentiment is one that I had printed for another card and hadn't used (not sure of the source).

3 D Embellishment

I created my own 3D embellishment for this card using a button and a copic coloured rose!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Whoopsi Daisy - 3D creation
http://cutedaisymay.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/show-us-those-3-d-creations.html

The background paper is from a paper pad by Pink Paislee called "Spring Jubilee".  I have added a strip of lace from my stash.  The image is from Whoopsi Daisy, coloured with copic markers then die-cut with a Spellbinders Labels Die.  The 3D embellishment uses a button from my Mum's button box together with a copic coloured white ribbon rose.

Be True to who you are

A card following a sketch:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Flat Friends - Sketch
http://flatfriendschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/challenge-9-sketch-x.html
Sentimental Sundays - For the Girls
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-160-for-girls.html

I have used a background paper from MME.  The matting is red cardstock. The image comes from Flat Friends and has been coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is die-cut with a Nellie's Multi-Frame die and then embellished with small rhinestones.  Now, I thought I knew who the sentiment was from but when I went to double-check to write this post, I can't find it.  So, obviously I was wrong.  I really need to improve my filing system so that I can find the sources of images/sentiments.  If anyone knows whose sentiment this is, please add a comment and I'll update the post.

Relax... it's your day

I have used the image as the whole front of this card with just an added sentiment:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Digi Darla - At The Beach
http://digidarlas.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/ddc-68-at-beach.html
PINspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration
http://pinspirationalchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/pinspirational-challenge-63-and-dt-call.html

I enlarged the image to card front size and then coloured with copic markers.  The sentiment is from When the Scrap Hits the Fun.  I added some colour to the sentiment using Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass.

Thank you Teacher

I wasn't going to make a CAS card for this image but somehow it turned out that way!

Just a Tag

I thought I would create a tag - just a tag not a card with a tag:

I am entering this tag into the following challenges:
Glitter n Sparkle - Tags
http://glitternsparklechallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-38.html
Sentimental Sundays - For the Girls
http://sentimentalsundays.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-160-for-girls.html

This lovely image comes from The Stamping Chef and is called Lily Ann.  I have hand cut a tag shape around the image.  I stamped Happy Birthday using an acrylic stamp.  The flowers were some small white ones that I sprayed with Perfect Pearl Mists - Mandarin. Those Perfect Pearl Mists always make me hungry as they all seemed to be named after foods (at least the ones I have are).  Anyways, I embellished the flowers with some rhinestones, added some fibre to the tag and then some Stickles - Fruit Punch (more food!) to the image and tag.

Celebrate 50th

I know a few people celebrating their 50th this year:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

I was inspired by the colours in the inspiration photo at Catch The Bug.  I have used two papers from a paper pad called "Lemon Flowers" by DCWV.  The tag is a digital from Bugaboo Stamps.  The 50th lettering is from a clearance sale a few months ago.

Christmas Turkey

I really love this image and found a nice background paper to work with for this card:

The background paper comes from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is from Bugaboo and coloured with copic markers.  Matting is red cardstock.  The sentiment is from Trimgym Digis. I used a ribbon under the sentiment and three buttons as accents.  They weren't quite the colour that I wanted so I have coloured them with copic marker R59.

Mousey Christmas Card

This is a combination Thank You teacher/Christmas card.  My childrens' school year finishes in December so it is appropriate to give a combination type card.

I still have a few papers left in my Winter Christmas paper pad and I've used two of them here.  The green is from a scrap paper pack - wonderful packs all colour co-ordinated.  The mesh/lace/ribbon is some I bought when I was on holiday in April.  I'm starting to wish I'd bought more of it as I haven't seen it anywhere else!  The image is from Meljens Designs.

Back to the card - The matting is green cardstock which I have also used to die-cut the corner embellishments using a Spellbinders die.  I have added three green pearls to the card.  The sentiment is from Hot Off the Press and is an acrylic stamp.

Stars & Stripes

When I see a challenge with stars and stripes, the obvious is an American flag or something derived from it.  As I live in NZ, American themes kinda don't work so I need to be a little more creative.  Although this image relates to America, I have used different colourings for the stars and stripes:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday - Sketch 211

I have followed this sketch for this card:
sh

The striped background papers are from my stash - had them for a long time and were from a scrapbooking paper pack.  The image is from Shelly's Images and has been coloured with pastel coloured copic markers.  The sparkly lace is from Sullivans.  I have added a die cut star (using Spellbinders die) sparkled up with some Stickles - Waterfall.

VW Beetle

When I saw the photo inspiration at PINspirational Challenge this time, I knew I was going to make a birthday card for my bestie - I remember years ago going out for the evening in her VW Beetle. However, it took me quite a while to get it finished!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
PINspirational Challenge - Photo Inspiration

I have used another paper from the Floral Fantasy paper pad for this card.  The image is Anji's Antic's Bug.  Colouring is with copic markers - forgot to write down the colours.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva and die cut with a Spellbinders Labels die.  I added some lace across the card and two copic coloured (Y35) white ribbon flowers.

Outlawz Wednesday Challenge - Sketch
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/sketchchallenge/forum/topics/wednesday-sketch-challenge-june-19-2013

The paper that I have used for the layering is a patterned floral paper from Bearly Mine Designs and a subtle patterned purple paper from my stash (had it for ages and is meant to be a Halloween paper I think).

The image is one from Lauretta's Digital Stamps (link below).  I have coloured the image using copic markers V17, V15, V09, V05, B23.  The sentiment is from Netty's Cards.

As embellishments, I have added a grouping of five white ribbon roses that were sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mists - Grape Fizz.  Around that I have added some light purple rhinestones (kinda representative of leaves).  I also added a purple grosgrain ribbon to one of the layers.

Love 2 Create - Paper Piecing
http://lovetocreatechallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-70-paper-piecing.html

I used some green scrap paper for the background - I thought it kinda looked like a grass pattern.  The striped paper is one from MME.  The image is from Digi Stamps 4 Joy and has been "coloured" with a combination of paper piecing and copic markers.  It is a bit hard to pick up the pattern on the shirt, short and socks from the photograph but the paper does have a subtle pattern on it.

I have added some fibre across the card and two green buttons from my Mum's button box.  The sentiment is by ? (anyone recognise it?) and has been die-cut with a Spellbinders die.  I'll keep looking for the source of this sentiment but I really need to get this uploaded before one of the above challenges closes!

I wasn't going to upload this card until tomorrow but then realised I used three colours of Perfect Pearls Mists - something different to add into the Glitter n Sparkle challenge which closes soon.  Then I'm off to bed as it is after 10pm!

Digi Darla Doily

Just couldn't resist that alliteration!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Digi Darla Challenges - Use a doily
http://digidarlas.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/ddc-67-use-doily.html

I have used a piece of a large doily I bought when on holiday a couple of months ago.  The image is from Digi Darla, coloured with copic markers G17, G14, Y38, Y28 and E11(not completely sure on that one).  The image has been matted with green cardstock.   I added some  yellow and green rhinestones as embellishments - otherwise have left the card as basically white upon white.

http://littletangles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-15-washi-it-up.html

I have used white cardstock as the base of the tag.  The image is from Melonheadz and the sentiment from Trimgym.  I have edged the tag with Distress Ink - Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade.  I used a Carl Craft circle punch to cut the eyelet out.  I threaded orange and yellow organza ribbon through the tag.  Colouring is done with copic markers YR07, YR04, Y06, Y38, Y35, YG11 and then added some Glossy Accents to the centre of the flower.
I also added a strip of washi tape across the tag as a finishing touch.

Rock Chicks

As soon as I first saw these two images, I wanted to do something with them as a pair.  They work so well together:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Kenny K's Krafty Krew - Double Up
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/challenge-148-double-up-use-two-kennyk.html

I used a couple of papers from a paper pad by DCWV called Rockstar Matstack.  The images are both from Kenny K - Tracy Chapstick and Anime DJ.  I have coloured them using copic markers.  The music stave is a Memory Box die which I die-cut twice from glitter cardstock (again from DCWV).  I used the left hand side of the die at the top and part of the left and all of the right side at the bottom of the card.

Army Girl

I tried to keep to the traditional army colours for this card:

I have used a red spotted paper from MME for the background of this card.  All matting is done with black cardstock.  The die-cutting is ovals from Spellbinders.  I have used a Carl Craft corner rounder to remove all sharp corners.  The image from Rick St Dennis has been coloured using copic markers.

Hot Hot Hot

How I wish it was!  It has been quite nippy here the last few mornings - roll on Spring and Summer.  It was time to make a summery card to think warmer thoughts.

Ghoulish Halloween

When I get a freebie image that is part of a challenge, I like to actually complete the challenge (even though I know I'm sometimes way off the mark).  The Airless Chambers one is a bit of a challenge for me as I tend to cutesy and "ordinary" images.  I suspect I may get better with practice....but we'll have to wait and see on that!  After collecting the May image and then forgetting to add it to my list of challenges, it didn't get done.  This time I completed my card:

As I said, I can somehow make even a ghoulish image look kinda cute!  The papers are some from my stash that I must have had for well over five years.  They were part of a scrapbooking pack.  The image is the free one from Airless Chambers which I have coloured with copic markers to match the papers.  The sentiment comes from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The fence is a Memory Box die cut from black cardstock. I also inked around the edges with Distress Ink - Black Soot.

The challenge can be found here:
http://airlesschambers.blogspot.co.nz/p/june-2013-freebie-saturday-contest.html

I was just having a look at the other entries and realised from a comment on one of them that there was a theme to this challenge.  Found the original post and realised my card doesn't fit that theme.  Never mind, at least I completed it and now that it is uploaded, it will get viewed.  I'll try and do better next time.

Three Owls carolling

My son loves owls so I tend to find myself crafting with them alot:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Digi Haven - Anything Goes
http://digihaven.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/anything-goes-challenge-for-our-one.html
Glitter n Sparkle - 3 of something (owls, words, pearls - take your pick!)

CHNC - Anything Christmas
http://craftyhazelnutschristmaschallenge2.blogspot.co.uk/2013/06/chnc-challenge-extra-for-june.html

I have used both sides of a paper from a paper pad by MME - the three words are from the reverse of the main paper.  The image that I have used comes from Di's Digital Downloads.  I cut the frame using some green cardstock and Spellbinders square dies.  I didn't quite get it centre but it is the first time I have tried doing this so it is a new skill for me.  I also added three green pearls to the "white" worners of the image.

For You

A card where the sentiment is the main focus:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Cupcake Craft - Sentiment as focus
http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/cupcake-247-lets-get-sentimental.html

I have used a paper from a matstack by DCWV called Lemon Flowers as the background for this card.  Matting is another cardstock by DCWV.  I have added a bright lemon grosgrain ribbon and some rhinestones to the card.  The sentiment comes from Beccy's Place and has been enhanced with the addition of some Stickles - Yellow.

Mint Strawberry and Butterscotch

Those were the three flavours of ice-cream in the inspiration photo at The Alley Way Stamps!  I have used those as the base colours of this card:

That is the title of the song that is the inspiration for this card (well the video is actually the inspiration!)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Musically Challenged - Just Like A Pill
http://musicallychallengedchallenge.blogspot.gr/2013/06/just-like-pill-challenge-2.html

The inspiration for this card comes from a point about 45sec into the video where Pink is singing in an area surrounded by lots of columns.

I have used a background paper from Create with TLC.  The image is from Ike's World and is called Vaguely Goth - she is even more vaguely goth by the time I coloured her!  I used copic markers for the colouring RV02 and 100 for the hair, BV29 for the eyes and E00 and E000 for the skin.
