Snowman

I wasn't sure that I was going to get this finished as I have only been back home a couple of days and my To Do list is horrendous. I had this planned out in my head while I was away but you never know if it is going to work until you start creating.  I had to change a bit on it but it is fairly close to what was in my initial thoughts.

Craftartista - Snowmen
https://craftartista.blogspot.com/2022/12/craftlandia-challenge-13.html

I have used a digital paper from Gecko Galz.  The mandala image is from Craftartista (Mia).  The snowman image is fussy cut from a Gecko Galz image - I just wanted him and not the girl he was with.  Coloring is with copic markers.  I also added some gems to the four corners.

Year In Review

Today is the last day of 2022 so it is time to share my Year In Review.  I didn't manage to do a Year In Review post last year but I'm on top of it this year.  I have put links to the original posts which provide more details of products used as well as links to any tutorials that I followed.

I had fun going through the projects that I have created this year and finding a favorite for each month.  I did try to limit it to one per challenge so I had some variety.

January - entry for The Butterfly Challenge which can be found here.

February - Design Team Post for 12 Months of Christmas which can be found here

March - Design Team post for Incy Wincy which can be found here

April - Entry for the Craftlandia Challenge which can be found here

May - Design Team post for Lil Patch of Crafty Friends which can be found here

June - entry for one of the challenges at Gecko Galz, which can be found here

July - Design Team post for CHNC which can be found here

August - Design Team post for Jan's Digis which can be found here.

September - entry for the Challenge at Pattie's Creations which can be found here

October - entry for the challenge at All Dressed Up which can be found here

November - entry for the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge at Beccy's Place which can be found here.

December - Design Team post for Scribbles Designs which can be found here.

It was hard choosing some of the months.  I hope you enjoyed looking at my favorite cards for each month of 2022.

Happy New Year to all my followers (and anyone else reading this post).

Friend To Friend

It is reveal time at Card Chain Challenge.  In May, my card went to Dee in Kenya.

These were the prompts that we had:

I have used the sketch, colours, coffee, mandala, friendship and embossing folder.

I used an embossing folder for the background and then partially inked it with Metallic Gilding Paste.  The mandala image (top) is from Mia Craftartista, the sentiment is from DeeDee's Digis and the coffee mug image is from Stamplorations.  Since I had already added a sentiment, I added some tiny pearls where the word "Sentiment" is in the sketch which enabled me to bring a bit more white into the card.

Mandala Fun

Mia is having a little challenge where she asks participants to use one of her mandala patterns for a project.  This is what I came up with:

Mia - 4th Blogaversary

I have used some papers from my Awaiting Crafting box (sources unknown).  Mia has lots of lovely mandala but #23 spoke to me for this card.  I kept it in summery colours using copic markers and Wink of Stella for colouring.  I also added some clear sparkle gems.

12 Cards of 2020

Beccy's Place has a post where Beccy has picked her favourite card for each month of 2020.  As I am currently bored out of my mind (we go back home tomorrow so I'll be back to my usual routine and my crafting things).  I'd like to go for a walk but my son and daughter are up on a hill and even their place isn't flat so with my knee issues that is definitely out.  So, here goes:

January - Of the Marianne Designs cards I have created in 2020, I think this the only one that uses an MD image as well as MD dies.  I like that what I planned for this one actually worked in reality.

February - This month is a card created for The Butterfly Challenge:

March - This month I have chosen one of the cards for our NZ Card Makers Swap Group.

April - This month belongs to Gecko Galz as they started a daily challenge during lockdown.  This was such a mental saving grace for me.  There were so many cards that I was pleased with this month but I chose one that I had a lot of fun (and mess) with inking the gears.

May - I was really happy with how this card turned out using a free Mandala image from Mia (Craftartista).  I had a heap of fun creating this background.

June - The image is from The Paper Shelter.  I really liked how this turned out - and how many butterflies that I managed to include

July - This one using an image from Bugaboo Stamps doesn't have any fancy folds or techniques.  I was really pleased with how this all came together.

August - Being a kitty lover, I had to include at least one kitty themed card.  This one uses an image from Ike's Art:

September - This month is one from Limited Runs.  I had fun creating this one and was really pleased with how it turned out:

October - I chose another masculine card this month using an image from Fred She Said.  This is the first time that I have embossed metallic card and I was pleased with the end result.

November - of course this month had to belong to Beccy's Place as a reasonable number of the posts were for Month of Holiday Cards.   I had a hard time trying to decide between about three cards but I eventually settled on one that was a card fold that I hadn't tried before, was tricky to execute but I succeeded.  The sense of accomplishment with this one merits it's inclusion:

December - Of course this month I had to include a card with a picture of the elf!  The image is a die from Memory Box which I die-cut then used as a mask.

I have linked each month name to the original post for the card of that month.

Enchanting

I saw a post on Mia's blog here in which she has a challenge to use one of her free mandalas.  I haven't had a play with a Mandala for a long time and I had some inspiration today, so here is what I came up with:

Mia (Craftartista) - Mandala Challenge
https://craftartista.blogspot.com/2020/05/3rd-blogaversary-candy.html

I have used six colours of Distress Oxides to create the background.  I also used the same six colours in Distress Markers to colour the mandala.  I used a Distress Ink (Vintage Photo) to add the clear stamps to the background.  To finish, I added some bling.

The six colours that I used are:
Spiced Marmalade
Spun Sugar
Worn Lipstick
Vintage Photo
Peeled Paint
Faded Jeans

I chose those colours as they were the only colours that I had in both Distress Oxides and Distress Markers!
