Needing A Rest

Today I went to visit some friends - and Ron tagged along again.  He was getting bored with all the socialising and decided he would have a nap under the tree.

Merry Christmas

This week at CHNC, our optional twist is Quick and Easy.  Now, this card might not look easy but it was - the image and sentiment were already printed out.  The layers comprise of scraps from my scraps box and the layout follows a sketch.  Probably the most time consuming thing about the card was photographing and watermarking it!

I have used an image and sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps.  The scraps used in the layering are from different christmas paper pads.  I'm fairly sure that the star one is from Sugar and Spice Studio but I'm not sure of the other two.  I also added some dotted washi tape.

Reading Time

I had to take my Mum for an appointment this morning.  While we were waiting for her to finish, Ron found a magazine to read.  It had lots of reading and puzzles in it so he wasn't bored sitting in the waiting room.

Self-Checkout

I needed to do a grocery shop this morning.  So, guess who came with me.

He spotted the red bow on the Self-Checkout aisle and climbed up on top of it for a photo.  I'm not sure if he thought it said "selfie-checkout" as he was adamant he needed a photo taken.

Wishing You Yuletide Treasures And Many Pleasures

It is a nice day and I really should be outside instead of crafting but there is a man up on the roof spraying so I thought it was safer to stay inside.  Once he has gone, I'm going to get outside and get some outside jobs done.

I have used a paper from a christmas paper pad by Recollections.  The image and sentiment are from QKR Stampede.  Colouring is with copic markers.  Last weekend I purchased some dies with stitched edges.  I have used those to die-cut both the image and sentiment.  I rather like the look of these so I think I will probably use them quite a bit. I added a star embellishment but otherwise kept it simple.

What's under the tree?

I am out and about a lot at the moment getting things organised for Christmas.  Ron has been coming along to "help".  Can't say he's been much help - but at least so far hasn't been causing trouble so I'm allowing him to tag along.

Today, we went visiting and they had a lovely little decorated tree.  It had lots of red baubles on it so Ron wanted his photo taken with it so Hope could see it.  She likes red and he thought she would love this tree:

I'm not sure where I am off to tomorrow - but no doubt the elf will be along for the ride!

Morning Tea

Today I went out to do some Christmas shopping - and of course Ron had to tag along too.  We were in need of a break so stopped for some morning tea.  Ron decided he would like an orange juice and a piece of shortbread.  He particularly liked the table decoration so he asked me to take a photo of him in front of it.

Christmas Angel

For the month of December, the optional theme at Path Of Positivity is Peace.  We are sponsored by Pattie's Creations and Scribbles Designs.

I have used an image from Patties Creations called Christmas Angel.  The sentiment is from Scribbles Designs and is called Silent Night Quote.

This is the front view of the card with the belly band holding it closed:

With the belly band removed, the image from Pattie's Creations can be seen in full:

Inside I added the Silent Night Quote from Scribbles Designs:

Lifting that flap, there is another layer underneath featuring a little pocket to add a gift card or something similar.

I used a digital paper from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.  Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella.

Look how big these are

Ron has decided if I am going out somewhere, then he is tagging along.  Today I needed to go to the Garden Centre to get some Rose Spray.  He saw a big red strawberry and a big flower in the car park and insisted on having his photo taken with them.

He was well behaved for the first photo and sat nicely underneath the strawberry.

He got a bit more adventurous at the flower and decided to climb up on top of it.

It looks like I'm not going to be able to go anywhere during December without that pesky elf tagging along.  I am taking my Mum out to see some of the Christmas festivals around the area.  I wouldn't be surprised if I have an elf on those outings.

Christmas - No Red or Green

2nd December
This fortnight at Incy Wincy Designs, our theme is a Christmas one.  We want to see your christmas makes - but no red or green please.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Polka Doodles.

I have used an image from Polka Doodles called Time To Give.  I used a mainly blue colour scheme but added in some pink, yellow, brown and sparkly white.

I also used a digital paper fo the background.  Colouring is with copic markers, Wink Of Stella and Kindy Glitz.  I added some blue velvet ribbon under the image plus a blue star and blue glitter foam  snowflakes to the image.

Card Swap Reveal

It is time for the Card Chain Challenge Reveal. For the month of November we had these prompts of which we could use one or more.  As in October, I ended up using all four prompts.

Trees/Baubles/Friendship

Glitter

I sent my card to Jo in England.  This is what I sent to her using the colours, sketch, trees and glitter.

The next card swap is in January and you can sign up from 7th December.

I Believe I Can Fry

We are midway through the For The Boys Challenge at Scribbles Designs.

I have used:
Scribbles Designs - BBQ Apron
Scribbles Designs - Can Fry
Scribble Doodle Designs - Firefly Digi Paper

I also some black and yellow cardstock for matting.  Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella.

Ron is Back

I was heading out to my mother's place today to take her shopping - and Ron arrived just before I left.  He snuck in the car and came with me.  So when we got there he decided to come in and check out my mother's place.  He found this lovely rose and wanted a photo with it to show how big it was:

I haven't seen Jassin or Eldrin so far this year.  I wonder if they came with Ron or stayed behind.  No doubt I will find out.

May 2020 Calendar Page

We are at the start of the latest Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch Of Crafty Friends.  For this challenge, we are sponsored by Fabrika Fantasy.

I have used an image from Fabrika Fantasy called Mushroom Elf.

I am gradually working through the months of 2020 for my desktop calendar.  As I intend giving this to my mother for Christmas, I am going to need to step up my game and finish the remaining months.

Here is a closer view of the image and embellishments:

Colouring of the image is with copic markers.  I die-cut some leaves and butterflies and then dotted around a bit of bling.

Peace on Earth

I thought I had finished all my cards for Beccy's Place Month Of Holiday Cards.  Then I saw the challenge at Carlin's Map Paradise and was inspired to create this card:

And here is with the card opened:

I have used three of the larger scraps that I had left over from my November cards to create the front of the card.  I die-cut a circle in the centre with part of the image showing through it.  When you open the card up, you can see the full image.  The image and sentiment are from Beccy's Place.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I inked the edges of the cut-out circle, image and sentiment with Distress Ink.  I left some white space around the image for personalising the card.

I followed a tutorial for an Aperture Card from Beccy's Place.

Final Scraps Card

Just before I show you the final scrap card that I made, I am going to share a few pictures.

The first is the scrap pile before I started using the scraps (there were a couple more papers added after this photograph too)

The second photo is the scrap pile this morning - still a few scraps left but now the pile is basically single layer:

These are the A-Frame card and Scraplet cards that didn't get completed:

And also the Gift Cards not yet completed - at least they are part completed if I find I need more gift cards at the last minute.

After I took this photo, I created another gift card using the one on the bottom left.

Merry Christmas

This week's optional theme at CHNC is Things With Wings.

I have used scraps from cards that I have been creating in November for the various panel pieces in the sketch.  I also added some glitter ribbon as one of the elements.  The image and sentiment are from Bugaboo Stamps.  Colouring is with copic markers and Kindy Glitz.  I also inked the edges of th image with Distress Ink.

Season's Greetings

I like the idea of using non-Christmas images for Christmas cards.  I had a bit of a play with a few images during November.  Some worked - and some didn't.   I'm sure if I looked through more of Beccy's images, I would find more images that work for Christmas.

Here is the front of the card:

And opened to show the greeting panel on the inside:

and after lifting the greeting panel to show the hidden pocket underneath.  Great for giving giftcards such as the iTunes one shown in the photo below:

I used various Christmas papers from paper pads.  The image is a free image called Nell on A Bicycle from Beccy's Place.  I added a sentiment from Beccy's Place and three poinsettia embellishments that were die-cut.

Warmest Wishes

I made this background earlier in the month for this card but hadn't got around to completing the card until the last minute.  It has been a hectic month.

At the beginning of November, I went to a craft fair and purchased a Gelli Plate.  I hadn't had a chance to have a play with it as I was working through the alphabet with Beccy's Month Of Holiday Cards challenge.  As I needed to create a background for the challenge at Carlin's Map Paradise, I decided it was time to have a play.  I am quite pleased with the result and will definitely create some more backgrounds as time permits.

Stanley Claus

I love making cards with interesting card folds so today's card is one that I haven't used during the month of November.

The image is also from Beccy's Place.  Colouring is with copic markers and Kindy Glitz.  I inked the edges of the image with Distress Ink.  The papers are from a Christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.

Merry and Bright

I was chatting to my daughter over Skype while I was making this card so I was getting her input.  She chose the colour for the ribbon on the bell as I couldn't decide what colour I wanted to use.  It turned out being a good choice as it works well with the washi tape.

Joy

I kept this one relatively simple as I like the contrast between the darker background and the blue.  I did add some Wink Of Stella to the bauble though.

Here is the sketch that I followed:

Blast From The Past

Although this is an older image from The Paper Shelter and I've had it for some time, I hadn't really used it that many times.  This challenge was a great opportunity to create with it again - but this time the pre-coloured version.

Corrosive Challenge - Anything Goes
http://corrosivechallengesbyjanet.blogspot.com/2019/11/challenge-11-anything-goes-and-winners.html

I made a X-Fold card for the Month Of Holiday Cards challenge at Beccy's Place.  Then a few days later the prompt for the Butterfly Challenge came out as X as well.  Since I had just completed one, I decided to create another one while the construction method was fresh in my mind.

I have used images from Beccy's Place, Limited Runs, Bugaboo, Melonheadz and QKR Stampede for this card (I've listed source in the order that they appear above).  All the sentiments except the last one are from Beccy's Place.  The last sentiment is from QKR Stampede.

I used a combination of red and green pre-embossed cardstock for the images and sentiment panels.  The triangular panels are patterned paper from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  I embellished the triangular panels with christmas tree and christmas present stickers.

I added a big ribbon that I purchased from one of the Japanese Dollar Stores that we have in NZ.
