Flying By To Say Hi

I created this card about a week ago but I've been sick (again) and didn't get it uploaded before the challenge that I intended it for closed.  I'm going to have a look and see if I can find another challenge to enter it into.

Here is another image from my stash.  I think I have used more than one this week.  I also managed to complete all seven elements at the Butterfly Challenge again this week.

I would have liked to enter:
Butterfly Challenge - Letter I (all seven elements)
https://butterflyspotchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/07/125-spin-butterfly-wheel-with-i-for.html

But will now enter into this challenge:
CHNC Patterned Paper - July Challenge

I followed a tutorial for an Impossible Card.

Final Avadares Challenge

This is my card for the final challenge at Avadares.

The card is for the challenges at:
Avadares Challenge Blog - Easter or Spring
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/02/challenge-9-easter-or-spring.html
QKR Stampede - Dreaming of Spring
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/challenge-30-dreaming-of-spring.html

The card uses some papers from a paper pad by DCWV.  The image is the one supplied for the challenge at Avadares.  I have kept the card relatively unembellished with the exception of some black rhinestones.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank both Teresa and Sara for this challenge.  I would also like to thank the various DT for all their inspiration cards each challenge.   I really appreciated my time as a guest DT for February too.

Avadares GDT Spot

I was absolutely amazed when I was approached by Teresa to be Guest Designer for Avadares for February.  This is my first Guest Designer spot and I'm honoured that it is with Avadares.  The image for February is a St Patricks themed image.  I've gone with the green colouring theme:

The challenge for Avadares can be found at the following link:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/02/challenge-8-st-patricks-or-green.html

This card is also for the challenges at:
Crafting for All Seasons - Buttons and Bows
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/challenge-44-buttons-and-bows.html
Jellypark Friends - Add buttons
http://jellyparkchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2013/01/new-challenge-button-up.html
Tuesday Alchemy - Anything Goes
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2013/01/challenge-49-anything-goes.html

The background paper that I have used for this card comes from a paper pad by DCWV called Lemon Flowers.  The image is from Avadares.

I also cut out a lace threader from another sheet of paper from the Lemon Flowers pack...and then threaded it with some green satin ribbon.  In the original plan, I was going to add a shamrock die-cut but then I couldn't find where I put the die last time I used it! Then I was looking through my box of buttons that I got from my Mum last April (I was actually looking for buttons for another card) and found these celtic knot buttons.  Goodness knows how old they are (probably more than 30 years ) but they were perfect for this card.  I'm pleased now that I couldn't find the shamrock die!  The bow is made from a very pale green organza ribbon.

Stick with Me Valentine

My first Valentines Card for the year!

This one is for the challenge at Avadares Challenge Blog:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/challenge-7-valentines-day-or-love.html
And also for the Challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge:
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/anything-goes.html

I am really pleased with the elegance of this card.   The card uses some new paper from a matstack by DCWV.  The image is the lovely freebie for the January challenge from Avadares.  I have added a sentiment from You Made Me Ink which I die-cut using on of the Spellbinders Pennant set.  I blinged the card up a bit with a string of pearls and rhinestones and also three small pearls near the image.

Crumbs

I have made a card using "Crumbs" from Avadares:

The card is for the challenges at:
Avadares Challenges - Anything with a Digi
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/challenge-6-anything-with-digi.html
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Free for all (sketch)
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/free-for-all-time-again.html
Tuesday Alchemy - Anything Goes
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2012/11/challenge-42-anything-goes.html

The background papers are from a paper pack by MME called Moments.  The papers in the pack are double sided so give much more choice!  The border strip has been cut from cardstock and then edged with a Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Border punch.  The bow has been created out of some ribbon in my stash that I didn't even know I had!

Crumbs has been coloured using copic markers and then die-cut with a Spellbinders oval die.   I then edged the die-cut with some Scattered Straw Distress Ink to give it a bit of a lift.

Christmas Candle

The challenge at Avadares Challenge Blog this time is a Christmas theme:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/11/challenge-5-christmas-or-hanakkah.html

I used the freebie image for November to create this card:

This time, I started with colouring the image and then found papers and embellishments to match.  Much harder to do so I was surprised when I found a near perfect match with the paper!

The image is from Avadares Challenge Blog and is the freebie available for the November challenge.  Such a beautiful image for this challenge.  I coloured the image using my copic markers and then die-cut the image with a Spellbinders Labels Die.

The paper is from Rosies Studios and I have also added some pearl and rhinestone embellishment along with some yellow organza ribbon.

Be Thankful

There are always things that we should be thankful for.

And this is the inner of the card to show the remainder of the sentiment:

This card is for the following challenges:
Avadares Challenge - Thankfulness
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/challenge-4-thankfulness.html
Platypus Creek - Be Thankful
http://www.platypuscreekdigitals.blogspot.co.nz/2012/10/challenge-18-be-thankful.html

I had a hard time deciding which image I wanted to use for this challenge.  Both of them were Avadares images which I thought were appropriate.  In the end I settled on this one called Thank You Mister Sun which I coloured with my copics.  I also streaked on some Glossy Accents onto Mister Sun to give him a bit of texture.

The background paper is from When the Scrap Hits the Fun.  The paper used for the matting and inner of the card is also from the same set.

The sentiment is a two parter from A Piece of Heart.

Embellishments used are grosgrain ribbon and some satin flowers.

Sparkly Ice-cream

The challenge at Avadares for this month is to make it sparkle:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/avadares-challenge-3-make-it-sparkle.html

The freebie for September was a cute ice-cream so I decided I would work with that.

The background paper is one from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine.

The image is the freebie for September from Avadares.  I just love the expressions on the faces of the ice-cream cone and also the scoop.

I have a fair bit of sparkle going on.  I started with the sparkly ribbon and then decided that it didn't look sparkly enough so added a strip of diamond shaped rhinestones.  Still not enough sparkle...so... the addition of some crystallina Kindy Glitz to the ice-cream and cones.

Balloon Bear Card

I love this balloon bear that came as a freebie with the second challenge at Avadares:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/challenge-2-anything-for-august.html

This is my card using this balloon bear:

I have used a background paper and matting cardstock from DCWV.  The image as I said is called Balloon Bear and is an Avadares image.  I have coloured the balloon bear using a Violet copic marker.  The corners of the diecut have been embellished using some little gold beads.

I have kept the colour scheme fairly straight forward so that the card has more impact.

Summer Heat

This is the name of the challenge at Avadares:
http://avadareschallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2012/07/avadares-challenge-blog-first-challenge.html

I wish we had the summer heat here!  We are currently winter and at the moment are having day after day of rain - good for crafting but not for much else!  Talking of crafting, here is the card I created for this challenge:

I used the Avadares digi stamp that was provided.   For the background, I used a Kate Knight paper from the Summer Tropical collection.  The image has been coloured using copic markers and glossy accents for the droplets.   The image was then die-cut using a Spellbinders die that I purchased recently.  The ribbon is some from an American Crafts set and the roses used are white ribbon roses coloured with copic marker to match the ribbon and background paper.  The sentiment is a digi image from TLC Creations.
