Glitter

This week's Anything Christmas Challenge has started at CHNC.  For this week, our optional theme is glitter.  For me, that was a good excuse to get out the glitter cardstock and the Kindy Glitz!

The sketch I followed gave me a chance to use up another of my pieces in my offcuts box.  I also used up some scraps of glitter cardstock for the pennants.  I have used an image from Bugaboo Stamps called Brats Winter Snowman.  Colouring is with copic markers, Wink Of Stella and Kindy Glitz.

I followed the sketch from Stella Says Sketch

Happy Birthday - Seas The Day

We are midway through the month of November - where is the month going to?  Anyway, it is time for the start of the latest challenge at Scribbles Designs.  The theme for this challenge is "For The Boys"

I have used the following:

Scribbles Designs - Boat 1
Scribbles Designs - Sailboat Wheel
Scribbles Designs - Happy Birthday from Words
Scribble Doodle Designs - Polka Dot Digital Paper

Colouring is with copic markers.  Matting is silver cardstock.  I also added a sentiment and an anchor embellishment from an embellishment pack.

Merry Christmas From All Of Us

I'm not sure what is happening with our weather this year.  I've woken up this morning to cool temperatures.  Usually by 9am it is quite warm at this time of the year.  The sky is overcast at the moment and looks like it is going to rain - so I guess I'll be inside crafting today!

Nutcrackers and Napkin Folding

I'm still on schedule for the month at the moment, even though this was a bit more of a tricky and time consuming card fold:

Have A Sweet Day

This month at 12 Months of Christmas our challenge theme is Red and Green.  We are at the midway point of the challenge.  The sponsor for the month of November is Imagine That Digistamp.

I have used the Gingerbread Scene Set from Imagine That! Digis.  There are four different view of the card:

There were so many elements in the set that most of the panels have images or sentiments from the Gingerbread Set.  I also added some embellishments from a Gingerbread themed embellishment pack for the remaining pieces.  The paper used comes from this month's set and was created by Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.

I followed a tutorial which can be found here.

Joy

There is another race on at Beccy's Place.  It is good timing for me as I had just been creating with an image that I had printed out for last year's challenge that hadn't got used.  I have about five or so from last year that I didn't end up using, so I'm going to try and get them on to cards this year.

I would like to enter:

I have created an easel card following a tutorial from Beccy's Place which can be found here.

The image and sentiment are also from Beccy's Place.  I think the quilted puddings are no longer in the store.

Colouring is with copic markers.

Fancy A Cuppa

The October challenge for the progressive challenge at Limited Runs featured a cat with a coffee mug.  He looks a bit disgruntled as some of it landed on his head!

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft.  The image is the progressive image from Limited Runs.  I added a digital sentiment from Bird's Cards.  Colouring is with copic markers - with some Glossy Accents added to the eyes.  I also added a paw print - the gem was originally blue but I re-coloured it with an orange copic marker so it fit better with the colour scheme of the card.

Knotted King Kite Kard

I couldn't resist spelling card with a K to make it fit the letter of the day!

There were only three colours starting with K in the colour chart that I have been using - so I used all three.

The paper is from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I also added a brad and bakers' twine for the kite tail.

Hello

After creating this card, I've decided that I need more practice at one layer cards.  At the moment, they are definitely not a strength of mine!  I gave it a go and hopefully I can learn from it and do a better job the next time that I attempt one.

I have used all seven elements on the wheel at Butterfly Challenge for O.

I would like to enter:
Butterfly Challenge - Letter O
https://butterflyspotchallenge.blogspot.com/2019/10/131-spin-butterfly-wheel-with-o-for-one.html
QKR Stampede - Anything Goes
http://qkrstampede.blogspot.com/2019/11/qkr-stampede-challenge-371.html

I worked with a white cardstock base for my card with the image printed on it and then cut to size.  The image is from Eureka Stamps and is coloured with copic markers in the three colours on the wheel.  I drew an oval around the image using a copic marker (the style with the more penlike nib).  Not only did the oval frame the image but it also met one of the other items on the wheel.  I drew a  line around the edge of the card and added a sentiment using a pigment liner from Staedtler.  To finish off, I added the seventh element which was "only one extra embellishment".  I used a very thin gold butterfly embellishment which kept the card closer to one layer.

Let Us Adore Him

We are up to the 12th day of November and I am still on schedule at this stage.  I have chosen the card folds I am going to make for each letter (except Y) and there are a couple of tricky ones towards the end of the alphabet.  It is a horrible day here with heavy rain and thunderstorms so I am going to make a start on some of those tricky ones.   You kind of forget it is meant to be summer on days like this!  It sound like it might be hailing too.

This is the inside of the card showing the sentiment panel:

Happy Christmas

I have had this image printed out since I went on holiday a few years ago and took a heap of images with me to colour when the weather wasn't conducive to going out anywhere.  I finally get to create with it as it is perfect for this challenge.

I also used a paper from a christmas paper pad by Kaisercraft.  Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella.

Santa Button

This week's optional theme at CHNC is "Use a button or more".  I bought a set of christmas themed buttons a couple of years ago and still have a number of them left:

I have also used offcut pieces of patterned paper for the background.  I added a piece of soft velveteen ribbon across the card.  Colouring is with copic markers and Kindy Gloss.  I added a craft button to complete the card.

Warm Wishes

I decided to go with a bit different approach for this card.  I put the image under the opening flap with just a teaser peaking out at the bottom! And added the sentiment to the flap.

Colour Challenge

We are midway through the colour challenge at Scribbles Designs.  I'm a bit late with adding this post but there is still a week to go with this challenge so you still have time to participate.  The theme this month is a colour one - click here to see the colour palette.

I have used:
Scribbles Designs - Flower Doodle 7
Scribble Doodle Designs - Hugs Digi Paper

Colouring is with copic markers.

Let It Snow

I'm back to posting my card on the correct day.   Hopefully I can stay on schedule now that I'm back on so it isn't a rush near the end of the month.    This one is a bit photo heavy due to the fold that I decided to do.  Somehow, I have never attempted this fold before but I think I will use it again.

I would like to enter:
Beccy's Place - Month Of Holiday Cards - F is for

Folly (colour)
Flavescent (colour)
Feldgrau (colour)

The papers that I used comes from a christmas paper pad by Recollections.  Colouring of the images is with copic markers and fluorescent copic markers.  I fussy cut the images as they looked more cohesive that way (at least to me anyway).

Beccy's BINGO

Day Six of the Month Of Holiday Cards at Beccy's Place.  For today, she has taken a break from the alphabet and challenged us with this BINGO board.

Now for me the biggest challenge is - row or column or diagonal?  And then, which one?  After a bit of consideration, I decided that I would work with the middle row of buttons + diecuts + fancy fold

A closer up view of the two images:

 and the other two sides:

Snowman with Ornament - free image from Beccy's Place can be found here
Snowman with Holly - free image from Beccy's Place can be found here
Sentiment for inside of card - from Beccy's Place  - set called Peace and Joy Digital Stamps

BINGO
Button - snowflake patterned button on front
Die-cuts - snowflakes on second side
Fancy Fold - Accordian fold

Colouring is with copic markers, Wink Of Stella and Kindy Glitz.  I inked the edges of the images and inner sentiment with Distress Ink. Snowflakes are die-cuts (not sure of the brand of the dies as I had cut these a while back).  I used Core'dinations cardstock for the base which I sanded to bring some of the under colour through.  It is the first time that I had used this cardstock and I found it interesting to work with.

Seasons Greetings

I'm almost up to date.  I had completed this one and I was working on today's one when I spotted that Beccy had a race for the next 10 to upload cards.   There was still a spot left when I started uploading this card but by the time that I uploaded it I was number 11.  I'll go and finish my card for today and get that uploaded this afternoon I hope.

And this is the explosion part (which I found hard to photograph!)

So Very Merry

I have so much to be thankful for

The optional twist for the month of November at Path of Positivity is Thankfulness.  This month, we are sponsored by A Day For Daisies.

I have used an image from A Day For Daisies called Book Time.

I also used a paper from a paper pad by Kaisercraft which has book spines on it.  The sentiment is a quote found on Brainy Quote.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I inked the edge of the image and sentiment with Distress Ink.  I also added some half pearls.

C is for

I'm a day behind now.  I had tried to get a bit ahead knowing that I was going to a craft show on Saturday.  Unfortunately, I was so tired that I slept in on Sunday so I lost a little more time than I thought I would.  At least it is at the beginning of the month, so I have time to catch up again.

Happy Birthday

This fortnight at Incy Wincy Designs, we have a challenge theme of Animals.  Judging by the number of cards I see featuring animals, I am sure many participants will find this one an easy one to join in with.  Our sponsor this fortnight is Fabrika Fantasy.

I have used an image from Fabrika Fantasy called Betta Fish Crowntail.

I also used a paper and sentiment from a paper pad by Kaisercraft. Colouring is with copic markers.  I highlighted water bubbles with Glossy Accents.  To finish, I added three glitter domes to the card.

We are at the first Sunday of November, so it is time for the next Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.   Our sponsor for this challenge is Lemon Shortbread.

I have used Winter Girl Puppy from Lemon Shortbread.

Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella.  I also added some snowflake, star and tree embellishments along with a piece of snowflake patterned tape.

Just For You

Day Two of the Monthly Holiday Challenge at Beccy's Place.  This is an event that Beccy has hosted every November for the past six years.  I was surprised when I checked back that I have joined in every year except the first one.  I thought I had only done 3 years.  This is a good opportunity not only to complete my cards, but push the envelope a bit with some different card folds.

For today's prompt, the letter is B.  Last year I had so much fun creating a Bow Card that I decided that I would repeat that this year but with a different colour scheme.

I would like to enter:

My "B" items are:
Bow card - Tutorial can be found here
Bell - from Golden Bell Digi stamps from Beccy's Place
Blizzard Blue - colour
Bitter Sweet (pink) - colour
Bubblegum (lighter pink) - colour
Banana Yellow - colour

The papers come from a paper pad by Kaisercraft called Silver Bells.  Colouring is with copic markers.  The sentiment is from a Beccy's Place set called Magnolias Digital Stamps.  While it isn't specifically a Christmas sentiment, I think it works well for this card.

Just Saying Hello

Last month, I discovered an International Card swap challenge after reading about it on a blog that I follow (a member of a NZ card swap group that I belong to).  I decided that I would join in for October.

I sent my card to Robyn in Australia.  I had read on her blog that she enjoys gardening so I included the leaves option in my card.  I ended up as a result using all four options in the challenge (you only have to use one).  So I have the three colours, sketch, leaves and die-cuts.

The cards for October have just been revealed, so I can now share my card here:

I have used a tangerine coloured paper from a paper pad for the background.  I die-cut some circles in both cherry and gold colours.  I die-cut the leaves using different dies from Memory Crafts.  I added a sentiment from Birdie Brown which I coloured with a tangerine coloured copic marker.

I couldn't get the link to the actual post for the Sparkles Monthly Challenge to come up to copy it so I have linked to the blog.  It is the top post still so hopefully it will stay like that for any of my lovely readers who are trying to find it.

H is for Hedgie

The optional theme for this week's challenge at CHNC is "Something beginning with H".  My H is for Hedgie.

I have used up some offcut pieces from my leftovers box to make this card.  The sketch from Stella Says Sketch was perfect for using up leftovers.  The image is from Bugaboo Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers and Kindy Glitz.  I also added some ribbon.

Giving Up Makes It Permanent

Tomorrow I am going to a craft show and doing a couple of classes.  To get in the groove for it, I created this card:

I would like to enter:
Feeling Sketchy - Sketch

I have used a paper from a paper pad by Rosie's Studio.  I added two pieces of green grosgrain ribbon.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and the sentiment is from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles.   I added a die-cut leaf tendril cut with a die from Memory Box and then added a flower embellishment to it.  Colouring is with copic markers.

Snow Much Fun

I thought that I was quick off the mark but I'm only the third entry for the Month Of Holiday Cards.  Those other two before me must have been really quick!

I usually repeat the outside paper on the inside but covering the whole of the inside was not going to work with this style of card so I just included a strip that is hidden from the outside:

I would like to enter:

My A is for are:

Angel image - Snow Angels set
Aqua colour - paper, scarf and some of the gemstones
Antique White colour (snow angel)
American Rose colour (nose)
Alice Blue (halo, wing contrast, and under snow angel)

The paper that I used comes from a paper pad by Bo Bunny.  Colouring is with copic markers and Wink Of Stella with some inking around edges using Distress Ink - Mermaid Lagoon.  I also added a sentiment (which I think comes from a retired set as I couldn't find it in the store) and some gemstones.

I just found the origin of the sentiment - It came from a set called Finn In The Snow Set.
