Happy Spring

The May challenge at Incy Wincy Designs is under way.  The themes for this month are Spring and/or Animals.

When I think of spring I think of daffodils bearing the first buds of the season.  For me, Spring is still a number of months away but it is nice to create a spring card when the cooler winter temperatures are just starting to hit.

I have used a digital paper from Pixel Scrapper.  The image is from The Stamping Boutique and the sentiment is from Anji's Antics.  Colouring is with copic markers and inking with Distress Ink.  I also added a spring themed ribbon and some gems.

I would like to enter:

Red and Green cat

I used a digital paper for this card - and thought initially it was more caramel/brown in colour.  When I printed it out and found it was red, I decided to go with a traditional christmas colour scheme!

Snowfriends::

We are midway through August and therefore midway through the current challenge at 12 Months of Christmas.  This month our theme is Snow People.  Although the theme is optional, the winners of the sponsor's prize are chosen from those who have followed the theme.  Those participants who submit two projects this month will earn themselves a Christmas paper.

This month our sponsor is The Stamping Boutique.

I worked with the lovely image called Snowfriends:

I also used two papers from Décosse's Dynamite Doodles - both are from the pack shown in this month's challenge posts.  I used a Spellbinders Label to die-cut the image and coloured the image with copic markers.  I die-cut a snowflake using another Spellbinders die and then embellished the snowflake and the card with pearls.

Floral

I've combined a few challenges here as I was having a bit of a creativity block!  I decided to just pick a few challenges and make them work together.

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
The Corrosive Challenge - Floral Fantasy
http://corrosivechallengesbyjanet.blogspot.co.nz/2015/04/challenge-222-floral-fantasy.html

The Outlawz Tuesday Challenge - Tic Tac Toe (top line)
http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/tuesday-color/forum/topics/colour-challenge-21st-april-2015

The background paper is one from a paper pad by Teresa Collins.  I added some yellow lace from Sullivans across the paper.  Then I varied the sketch a little!  I cut the image from The Stamping Boutique into a larger square and then I overlapped the piece on the side rather than overlapping the image over it.  I added some rose shaped buttons as embellishments.

Baby Blue

Reminds me of an old song!  I decided to go non-traditional with this one and use blue for a girl!  My girl couldn't wear pastels when she was little (can't now either!) so she tended to be in brighter colours.  So, I don't necessarily think pastel pink for a girl!

I would like to enter my card into these challenges:
Glitter n Sparkle - Something with B (bottle, blanky, bear, blue, bow)
http://glitternsparklechallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/challenge-105.html
Inspiration Destination - Anything Goes
http://ema-ginationstation.blogspot.co.nz/2014/10/AG-ch-2-dr-digi.html

I have used a paper from Webster's Pages for the background.  I added some blue lace from Sullivans and a bow using satin ribbon from Semco.  The image is from The Stamping Boutique.  I added some Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass around the image and coloured the image itself with copic markers.  I also coloured some bling with copic marker B29 and added these to the card.

Path Of Positivity - Challenge #17: Possibilities

It is the first Monday in the month - so that means it is time for the August challenge at Path Of Positivity.  This month the theme is Possibilities.  To see the inspiration from the other DT members and to find out the details of the challenge, head over to Path Of Positivity Challenge blog.

Here is my inspiration piece:

I was particularly drawn to the quote by Thomas Merton that I have used here.  I feel we all need to recognize the possibilities as well as the challenges offered to us.  I know it is something that I need to remind myself of often.

I have used an image from The Stamping Boutique called Escape The Tower.  I coloured the image using copic markers and then added some Stickles to her wings.

Chalked Fairy

Years ago I did some calligraphy courses and worked a bit with chalk sticks.  I hadn't pulled them out a lot since.  Seeing a challenge that involved using chalk, I decided it was time they saw the light of day!

I am entering the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 - Sketch #2
http://sweetsketchwednesday2.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/sweet-sketch-wednesday-2-and-stamping.html

I have used paper from a scrapbooking paper pack that I have had for some years.  I also used some cardstock that I have had for hours.  The image is from The Stamping Boutique and has been die-cut using a circle die from Spellbinders and then chalked round the edge with gold chalk.  The image is coloured with a combination of copic markers and Stickles - Gold.  The matting is glitter cardstock from DCWV die-cut with a scallop circle die from Spellbinders.  The addition of three pearls finishes the card.

Here is the sketch that I used:
