Oh Christmas Tree

We are at the midway point of the Music Challenge at Path of Positivity.  Our March sponsors are Luna Girl and Scribbles Designs.

I have managed to use up some more items from my Awaiting Crafting boxes - two digital papers and a sentiment.  Each little bit helps - I need to keep telling myself that as I'm not seeing the pile get smaller as it is so big in the first place.

I have used two digital papers - the plaid one is from Doodle Pantry but I'm not sure of the source of the other one.  I covered the join between the papers with some grosgrain ribbon from American Crafts.  The image is from Hetty Clare Art and the sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps.  Colouring is with copic markers.  I inked the edges of the image and sentiment with Distress Ink before matting on cream cardstock.  I added a mix of flowers as embellishments.

One of my hobbies is swimming.  I am also fortunate that it is my job as well.  There is just something calming and relaxing about swimming - even when I am pushing myself to swim faster or further!

I used some Distress Inks to create the background.  I dabbed some Walnut Stain on using cotton wall ball and then used the Tim Holtz tool to add some Antique Linen.  The image is from The Alley Way Stamps and coloured with copic markers.  I added the faux Stitching with Distress Marker Forest Moss.

Christmas Bauble

This card is inspired by the challenge at The Alley Way Stamps.  The elements of the picture that inspired me were the shades of pink, the striped straw and the embossed pattern on the mat that the box of drinks is sitting on.  Here is what came from that inspiration:

I have used a white card blank.  The square has been created using white cardstock stencilled with Tattered Rose Distress Ink using a Memory Box Stencil.  I die-cut a Christmas ornament using a Spellbinder die and then embossed it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  The image is from The Alley Way Stamps and has been coloured with copic markers.  I added two different colours of twine and matching bows.

I have used a background paper from a paper pad (not sure which one it came out of!).  The images are from QKR Stampede - I used a combination of the cat diving and the swimming pool.  The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps.  I coloured the image using copic markers YR00, YR000, BG15, BG13, G000, B000, E18, E15, Y15, R59, BV02, C2, C0.  I added some waves around the image using Distress Marker - Peacock Feathers which is a good aquatic colour!  I also used some wide aqua coloured webbed ribbon that reminds me of coral.

I like to have a few "encouragement" cards on hand.  I teach young children to swim and at times they hit a bit of a brick wall and feel that they aren't getting anywhere.  It is good to have a fun image and an encouraging sentiment to get them through those times:
