I've used a colour scheme of red, white and blue - but not for a patriotic card. Our national flag colours are also red, white and blue but our National Day was back in February. Traditionally it was called "Waitangi Day" which was a celebration of the anniversary of the signing of the treaty of Waitangi - an agreement between the local maori population and the newer mainly English settlers that were arriving into the country in 1840. More recently though, it seems to have been re-named "New Zealand Day".
Anyway, after a bit of New Zealand history - here is my card:
I am entering my card into these challenges:
Fresh Brewed Designs - Red, white and blue
Bearly Mine Designs - Let's Go Digital (papers and image)
Open Minded Crafting Fun Challenge - Patriotic Colours
Sentimental Sundays - Summer (summer flowers)
Sunday Sketch and Stamp - Sketch
I kept the background as the plain white cardstock. I added two papers from Bearly Mine Designs that fitted the colour scheme. The image is a digital image from Fresh Brewed Designs and has been coloured with copic markers and then I added some stitching lines around the outside of the circle with Distress Markers. I added a sentiment from Sans Designs and coloured some pearls for two of the corners.
For the layout, I followed the sketch at Sunday, Sketch and Stamp.
